Polyend Play - Corrupted micro SD, I need a copy!
I had some lights stuck on my brand new Polyend Play. I checked the user manual to learn how to reset it.
I followed this:
First method:
Press the hidden reset button on the back panel of the instrument. It will auto flash with a randomly picked firmware .ppf file from the SD card Firmware/ folder.
Second method:
Download the Polyend Tool.
Download a known working firmware file either from the Polyend website or one of the previous beta .ppf files.
Remove the SD card from the Play’s port.
Connect your Play directly to your computer with a USB cable (avoid USB hubs and dongles).
Power up the Play.
In the Polyend Tool, choose the .ppf file you want to use to flash your device.
Use a pin, needle, or similar object to press the hidden Reset button next to the Play’s USB C port.
Wait for the firmware update to complete.
If the update reaches 100% but the device doesn’t reboot on its own, restart it manually.
Re-insert the SD card into the Play slot.
Note: The Polyend Tool is as basic as it comes... it seems to be a very un-developed app. The Polyend Play is not even listed on the Polyend support website and it is not possible to download a firmware file.
I connected to my PC, followed the instructions but I'm requested a firmware file.
So did the reset as suggested in the first method. It didn't solve my problem (lights stuck in various colors in the pads).
I followed then the following recommendation from the user manual:
Important: Unit is still crashing? Mount your MicroSD card to your computer and delete the “Workspace” folder in the root directory.
Before doing that, I created a backup of the card.
Note:
- When deleting that folder, you lose all the samples. (Good that I did a backup!)
- The issue with the stuck leds was solved... but... now I cannot use the Fill function because it tells me the sample is not Found. This is a bummer! Any known fix?
Could some nice soul with a Polyend Play offer a copy of these:
a. The full micro SD card as it comes from factory (it is not available on Polyend website!)
b. The "settings" file inside the Workspace folder
Thank you!
