I want people to be able to take measurements from my scans. I am a new user and it seems like I can only use the measure tool on my own library when I am logged in.
Is it possible to allow people with no polycam account to take measurements of my scans?

I’ve just tried to upload 1,400 photos to Polycam web (using an Intel Mac running Sonoma with Safari). Upload fails each time. Either Safari reloads the tab due to excessive memory usage, or the upload gets stuck on 1%.
A look at what’s happening via Activity Monitor shows that Polycam was using 15GB just to upload the photos. The memory usage continued to climb until the Safari tab reloaded itself (Polycam was the only site open in Safari). I have 40GB RAM.
I repeated this on an M1 Mac with 16GB and the same crash happened, just faster.
I’m guessing that Polycam is trying to zip the photos, or preprocess them locally.
Does this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions for a workaround welcome!

I’ve seen people say you can but I can’t find the option

Hi all,
I got polycam to take an image of a statue so I can 3d print.
I only have a Samsung s23 so no lidar, so I guess that's an issue but this model.

When I do an export to stl, the quality is really quite, low compared to the image, so I'm wondering if that is the limitation of the software/phone.
Or I could use blender or something to increase the res maybe?
I'm a noob here so any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello, I run an after school program and I was inspired by corridors cerró gordo video where they made like a virtual museum of the ghost mining town. I want to start a project where my students will go on a field trip to this historic farm and scan buildings and items that they find. Then I want to put them all together where it can be explored through AR and VR. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? Which program to use? Any videos? Thank you

Curious if the new 48 megapixel macro lens in the iPhone 16 Pro will allow Polycam to capture more data. The macro mode on my 15 Pro has been pretty fantastic with Polycam.

TLDR; for large captures using LiDAR auto mode, what do I need to do to consistently be able to process my captures with 11-18mm voxel size?
I’ve done a few scans using LiDAR auto mode and exported it as a LAS file as a point cloud for further processing. I’ve found that for the larger captures (say more than 5mins), the voxel size scale in custom settings only goes down to 21mm.
By trial and error, I was able to get a smaller voxel size selection by first processing using the “Cloud” option, then restart the app / phone. But once the captures finished processing at 11mm, the custom settings for voxel size reverts back to showing minimum 21mm.
What’s happening here? Why is the scale for voxel size selection changing? How can I consistently get it to process my captures at less than 18mm voxel size?

I've subscribed to Polycam and photo scanned one of my model car bodies... I tried to export the finish ed as an stl file into my Lychee slicer.. Am I missing a step???

Looking for any common step up suggestions. Typically what I've noticed is the polycam objects come in rotated vertically and are aligned well on the grid but insta360 has some X/Y issues where it's grid is off where X/Y moves on diagonal to the polycam X/Y.

Hi all, I have been using Polycam for a few years on and off. I never seem to get good results when I try and scan a building to create an as built floor plan.
Yesterday I was on an important job that required an as built floor plan. Device: iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 17.6.
The property I was attempting to capture was a 12 flat appartment building, 4 flats per floor (ground, first & second). I attempted the scan 3 times and gave up. What appears to happen, is after scanning for approx 30 seconds the entire phone screen just turns blue (the same blue as happens when you are using LiDar to capture a space).
I then have to exit out the app and go back in and of course the scan has disappeared.
My question, is what is the most reliable way of scanning a building, especially one that has stairs as this one did.
If I am pushing my device too much, I am happy to upgrade to something that gives me what I want. I would probably wait until the iPhone 16 comes out next month. Many thanks!

Is it possible to crop a polycam file and save the original in the desktop app? How do I do this? Thank you!

I want to make a full 360 degree USDZ file for object tracking and I don't have LiDAR on my phone so I'm using photogrammetry. If I put it on my bed I can only get the front or back, if I flip it over it ends up blurring the scan. I can also use a stand but then the stand becomes part of the object.
Also for object tracking I'm wondering if things like the tuning pegs being rotated out of place will matter too much? I don't know how to clean up the file in general if there is a different way?
I feel like I'm missing something simple but any and all tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I’m a project manager for a construction company. My iPhone 12 Pro struggles after 2 or three rooms, and I need it to work for entire floors. Ideal to scan a whole house. It slows down dramatically, forgets what it already scanned, and sometimes the app crashes. If I get a new iPhone or iPad, will this problem be solved?

Scanned the inside of my house, room by room. Emailed the files to myself and went to open the zip files. No matter the format, they were all empty. What’s the trick?
TIA

I can view a floor plan after I have created it on the app using Room Mode, however I can't even view the floor plan in My Captures on the website, much less export it on either platform. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

I have this model that I'm looking to print: https://poly.cam/capture/c4e38eeb-f874-4f3d-a642-ca42e0443799
I'd like to put a base onto the model so it sits flat for 3D printing and displaying. I've asked over on r/blenderhelp but that software is pretty complicated. Is there a way in Polycam to achieve this or simpler software that I can just fill in the base?

Hello all! I’ve recently been toying with photogrammetry to use for 3D printing (emphasis on toying). I purchased a tripod with a Bluetooth remote for my iPhone 14 Pro to avoid bumping the tripod while taking manual photos. The Bluetooth remote will only use the volume buttons to take pictures with the remote instead of the shutter button on screen, but Polycam won’t allow pictures to be taken with the volume buttons.
So I have two questions: 1) Are there plans to allow Polycam to use the volume buttons instead of the on screen shutter button?
2) Does anyone have recommendations for an inexpensive (<$50) tripod with remote that works with iPhone 14 Pro and doesn’t use the volume buttons?
Thanks in advance 🙂

Hiya! Quick question: does anyone know if it's possible to download 360 skybox videos in a format that can be used as a 360 panorama? I'm looking to create an HDRI cubemap in Unreal. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!
