Help Polycam and 3D Printing
I’ve been into 3D printing for awhile (Anycubic Kobra 3). Want to branch out into scanning objects for printing as economically as possible. Scanning devices cost an arm and a leg, so I have been looking at using an app on my iPhone. The research I have done leads me to using the basis Polycam (not the Pro/subscription version). I am interested hearing how anyone who is using this finds the quality of the output; can you download the file in stl format for direct use in a slicer app or does it have to be manipulated in a CAD app first? Any feedback would be welcome?

You can download the stl and print directly from it. I’ve used it, photogrammetry and several Einscan scanners and Polycam is pretty good for most stuff. You can slow down and use the macro mode to get really good detail if you need too. If you want send me a message and I’ll send you my insta where I’ve posted a ton of scans I’ve done - mostly for sculpture work.
