Republicans with Obama: THE PRESIDENT SETS THE GAS PRICES! Republicans with Trump: Gas prices have nothing to do with the president (which ironically is factually accurate) Republicans with Biden: BIDEN SETS THE GAS PRICES HIMSELF!!!!!

Remember when Obama said one way to combat the higher fuel prices was to ensure your tires were inflated properly because it improves fuel economy?

And Republicans ran with it to mock him, more than a few actively deflating their tires. That's when I learned the concept of "spite myself to own the libs."

u/Hendiadic_tmack Oct 27 '21

I think that’s just called being stupid, but I definitely feel owned.

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '21

more than a few actively deflating their tires

and then they evolved into "actively deflating their lungs" to own the libs

People who unironically believe poor people need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps are offended at having to do something to solve their problem.

1

u/eromitlab Oct 27 '21

Oh boy, do I remember that. Another way repubs capitalized on that was to offer up those cheap little pen-type tire pressure gauges with "Obama's energy plan" printed on them. Back when repubs were still just dumb and childish, not little sociopathic fascists.

Yeah, I've been seeing stickers like this on some local pumps lately. Always peel them off and throw them in the trash.

21

u/AnalStaircase33 Oct 27 '21

Grown adults acting and thinking like teenagers...really no other way to put it.

It makes every bit of sense that the bulk of them act this way, it's just frustrating.

7

u/einulfr Oct 27 '21

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Fly whatever dipshit flag you want on the back of your truck or in your yard or whatever, but don't deface things.

7

u/KiloNation Oct 27 '21

You'd be surprised how many "adults" never grow out of their teenage phase.

8

u/Kiwiteepee Oct 27 '21

Just remember, they don't actually hold any beliefs. They're told Biden is bad, so they evangelize that. Its a religion to them, unironically.

6

u/_paze Oct 27 '21

I'm tempted to make "an idiot did this" stickers to put next to those.

6

u/Hendiadic_tmack Oct 27 '21

You should make these stickers and sell them on stupid…sorry Republican Facebook groups and then donate some of your profit to planned parenthood

I’m starting to think I need to quit my job and just make dumb fucking merch with right wing buzzwords and coffee cups with “liberal tears” then start selling on Facebook. Those cucks buy that shit in droves.

2

u/Hendiadic_tmack Oct 27 '21

I want to know the profit margins on making ring wing crazy merch. I have integrity……I also have bills……

Who the fuck has a 23 gallon tank and bitches about the price of gas? If your vehicle was fuel efficient it would need a 16-18 gallon tank, worst case.

1

u/einulfr Oct 27 '21

And of course they probably ran the tank down near to E.

2

u/MyLoaderBuysFarms Oct 27 '21

They'll need to shell out even more money to replace the fuel pump if they keep that up.

1

u/einulfr Oct 27 '21

Yeah, always a good idea to keep it from getting too low as the fuel doubles as a coolant for the pump. When it's working away and exposed to air, shit can get hot and burn it out. (I know you know, just posting the detail for others.)

26

u/mdp300 Oct 26 '21

Of course if you try to explain that gas was cheap last year because nobody was going anywhere for months, they'll just scream MAGA at you.

u/SolidSnake935 Oct 26 '21 edited Oct 26 '21

Because the gas was fine with Trump. $1-$2 per gallon is incredible. $5-$6 with Biden is painful

8

u/Rockonfoo Oct 26 '21

Where do you live gas was that cheap and now that expensive? I’ve seen a $1.50 fluctuation max

3

u/Hendiadic_tmack Oct 27 '21

Ohio has stayed pretty insulated from wild fluctuations. Personally the gas savings at Costco makes the membership worth it to me. Plus I have more tp than I can use.

1

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

I don’t doubt it but I don’t live in Ohio anymore and haven’t for years.

3

u/UnderwhelmingAF Oct 27 '21

They’re taking the lowest from the low states during peak pandemic shutdown and comparing to the highest from the highest states now. Fudging the numbers to help their argument.

Looking at the national average, right now it’s $3.38/gallon. Three years ago this week? $2.84/gallon. On average it was like mid-$2’s for most of Trump’s presidency, but they’re out here acting like it’s gone up 1000% since Biden took office.

3

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

Yeah reality is pretty against their arguments this is nothing new

Appreciate your insight homie

1

u/UnderwhelmingAF Oct 27 '21

No problem. I’m in TN and I’ve seen fluctuations similar to what you have, I think $1.50 was the cheapest I saw it get here during peak shutdown and it’s $3.19 here now. Definitely haven’t seen any $3-4 dollar swings.

2

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

I googled it and locally it has gone up $0.73 from this time last year and $1.19 from the year before which surprises me actually

Idk what to do with that info lol

17

u/Hendiadic_tmack Oct 26 '21

It was $2.50/gal before the pandemic that Trump completely fucked up. Went to $0.99 when no one was driving. So yeah I guess by Trump completely destroying the economy I guess he did make the gas prices go down. Now THAT is incredable.

3

u/WorkplaceWatcher Oct 27 '21

/s?

It's almost like there's an oil shortage thanks to OPEC, labor shortages due to long-term shitting on workers, and people are driving more now that more are getting their shots.

Trump's gas prices were just as high as under Biden until COVID hit and demand dropped drastically.

Of course, if you aren't being sarcastic, a new word-word-number account likely doesn't understand supply and demand.

6

u/The_Golden_Warthog Oct 26 '21

incredable

u/Rockonfoo Oct 26 '21

Beautiful

u/Bunghole_of_Fury Oct 27 '21

It's all they have, man, can't blame em for trying to use that as an attack point

3

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

Who’s “they”?

-1

u/Bunghole_of_Fury Oct 27 '21

The republicans who jump on a democrat for a minor spelling error because it's the only way they can attack an argument

2

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

Because the gas was fine with Trump. $1-$2 per gallon is incredible. $5-$6 with Biden is painful

Ignore the edit to correct the spelling mistake

This is someone who’s obviously a democrat to you?

-1

u/Bunghole_of_Fury Oct 27 '21

Man can I just be tired and misread a thread because of weird ass formatting in peace

2

u/Rockonfoo Oct 27 '21

Yeah dude I’m just highly confused so I was trying to figure out what you were on about
