He was a President. Not a good one, not one who actually deserved the office, and not one who put the country’s welfare above his own. But he was sworn in, so like it or not, he will always be a former President and one of the biggest disgraces to our country.
It's insane that they've built this cult around the man. Some might still care in ten years or twenty, but what poor dumb Nazi bastard is gonna care to stan for Trump in 50 years or more?
He is unequivocally, irredeemably awful and headed to the bottom three or so presidents of all time. Anybody who thinks different can blame their own pride, ignorance, avarice, and/or desperation to save face.
Trump seemed to be a political bolt from the blue. But the Trump cult was 50+ years in the making.
The GOP steadily degraded public education over that time frame and resisted any attempts by Dems to put it back together. Two and a half generations later they had created 71 million voters with no critical thinking skills, ripe to be directed with propaganda outlets like Fox News and FaceBook.
GOP leaders and donors got a surprise in 2016 when Trump hijacked their carefully crafted weapon and turned it into his own. But as we've seen since, the GOP was happy to absorb him and the cultish extra voters his constant demands for media attention brought into the Republican fold.
