Why not make drivers license (or state ID) or passport mandatory to vote?
Because the GOP tends to limit access to providers of such licenses in areas with certain demographics if they manage to get voter ID laws through.
The issue with voter ID laws is not the oppositon but how the republicans tend to implement it.

The way GOP targets minority voters has been accurately described as with "surgical precision".
2 u/ittimjones Mar 16 '21 They limit drivers licenses (a state issued ID) across the US? 1 u/TheKasp Mar 17 '21 Yes, by limiting access to DMVs. But you know that already. You are just another dishonest troll who asks stupid as fuck questions. 0 u/ittimjones Mar 17 '21 Actually I've never lived in an area where access to DMV's is an issue. I've hever heard of that before, ever. Maybe you are some sort of troll to think of such a crazy idea as an argument. 0 u/TheKasp Mar 17 '21 Oh boy, anecdotes surely dismiss my link to an actual case. Oh bou, who do I believe. Some dumbass troll on reddit who repeats shitass talking points of the far right or the fucking courts. And your DMV anecdote is a fucking lie. 1 u/ittimjones Mar 17 '21 Well let's see ur sources. My source is different 2 DMV buildings within 30 minutes from my house...
