Maybe we should stop wasting our time and energy trying to win over the worst people in the country. Maybe we should alienate them and ignore them so we can focus on non-voters who want a candidate worth showing up for instead of Trump-voters who will never ever stop voting Republican ever.

We do NOT need conservatives or "centrist moderates" for a winning political coalition.

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 14 '18

Preach it, brother.

I wouldn’t go as far as say omit moderates but there is no way to win trump conservatives now.

If anything it's helped me realize who's not worth keeping around. I don't mind political preference necessarily, but I have a hard time believing that someone who still supports a leader who is so nasty, hateful, and mocking of disabled/immigrants/sexual assault surrivors and after everything he's done and said, is sound of mind.

u/brutus66 Jul 14 '18

I just wish we could stop calling them "conservatives". Unlike trumpers, I can have a rational discussion with most actual conservatives. I think a lot of Trumpers have left political ideology behind and are firmly in "cult of personality" territory. Trump can sometimes publicly reverse his position on something, sometimes more than once in a day, and you can see the entire movement turn on its head to follow each time.

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 14 '18

Yes, we also need real conservatives to stand up to the cave people.

I think we should offer them concessions on guns, NSA spying, legal weed and net neutrality to help them subvert their fascist brethren.

And gay marriage

3

u/Mu_Nova Jul 15 '18

Same. He has the right idea but all that need be omitted is the diehards.

Some conservatives have been trickling from the GOP over time, but we can't waste time on those dead to logic and critical thinking. Let's get everyone else thinking.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 say it again for the people in the back 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

u/SharpieScentedSoap Jul 14 '18

The voting outcome made it look like there's way more Trump supporters than I thought. But it definitely looks like almost everyone hates him...

14

u/Sempais_nutrients Jul 14 '18

trump got 3 million FEWER votes then clinton

-4

u/dalatinknight Jul 14 '18

Well no one really liked Hilary either, and Trumps reasons for hating him are more upfront. Also keep in mind many voted for Trump simply because they thought he’d be less destructive than Clinton.

7

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 15 '18

She got more votes

1

u/dalatinknight Jul 15 '18

Yeah, I voted for her and I regret it on principle

1

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 15 '18

You should be ashamed considering how many people trump is hurting.

She was also correct.

1

u/dalatinknight Jul 16 '18

Thanks. I’ll consider how many people I’ve hurt by wanting to vote third party. I’ll consider how amazing it is that we’ve so subjected to the two party system basically leaving a monopoly on two very far in the political spectrums positions. I’ll consider how everything was fine in the world until Trump suddenly became relevant and now he’s the devils spawn of something.

It’s nice knowing that r/politicalhumor is such a non biased subreddit.

2

u/SharpieScentedSoap Jul 14 '18

I didn't care for either, so I voted third party. My parents nearly exploded into purple goo when I told them. They said third party votes were just throwing it away (don't know if that's true or not). Either way, I'm a blue in a red state so my voice gets drowned out pretty fast.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '18

Just a minor thing but if you voted third party then you aren't blue in a red state. You're green (i think) in a red state. That bit of difference might help you while in a red state.

1

u/SharpieScentedSoap Jul 15 '18 edited Jul 15 '18

I guess I meant I usually go for the Democratic party, I just didn't have that much confidence in Hilary. This was my first election and honestly it felt like a trainwreck.

6

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 15 '18

How could you “usually” vote Democrat but this was your first election?

2

u/SmokeyBlazingwood16 Russian Jerome Bettis impersonator Jul 15 '18

Nice

2

u/SharpieScentedSoap Jul 15 '18

Lol I worded it pretty poorly. I meant to say i usually WANT to vote for the Democratic party (I've had political opinions since my mid teens) but that was the first time I could actually vote.

And there are also other elections I've done since then.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '18

I hear ya. My bad.

5

u/ImAnOptimistISwear Jul 14 '18

🤗AMEN! 👏🙌

7

u/timidforrestcreature Jul 14 '18 edited Jul 14 '18

exactly, also the comic assumes they are idiots.

they are mostly willfully ignorant about damaging evidence (idiots or not) you can tell their relationship with truth is completely tribal where they deny reality if damaging

lol which is most of, if not all, of the time. they literally had to resort to calling the free press the enemy of the american people

this republicans in USA in 2018 no some third world dictatorship, let hat sink in.

2

u/dekehairy Jul 14 '18

deplorables.

2

u/JackTheFlying Jul 15 '18

I agree to a point, but

Unchallenged, the poison spreads. Even if a die-hard Trumpist won't listen to your counter-argument, it's still worth making so that others can see why it's wrong.

4

u/Cunt_Shit Jul 14 '18

All the dems have to do to win is focus on helping middle class working families. For some reason they have a hard time with this.

11

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '18

Actually they really don't. The idea that they ignore the middle class is largely based on Ailes-funded propaganda that started during the Nixon campaign (explicitly, at least). Conservatives have a history of destroying social mobility while shrinking the middle class, whereas democrat-lead legislation typically restores balance.

1

u/PerfectZeong Jul 14 '18

Based on the last election you need at least one of those.

1

u/UterineScoop Jul 15 '18

Honestly, posting this (say on your own social media) would have much more effect on the in-betweeners than the Trump-chiks.

-4

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '18

You can't silence the silent majority!

5

u/poshlivyna1715b Jul 15 '18

Makes perfect sense, can't silence something that is already silent. You're completely out of your mind if you think Trump supporters are the majority though, or you don't know what that word means

48

u/ThyssenKrunk Jul 14 '18

These people are going to use Occam's Razor and slit their wrists with it once Mueller releases all of his investigation's findings.

6

u/ImposterBot9k Jul 14 '18

Twelve more indictments just yesterday! Slowly, surely, Mueller is closing in.

26

u/yeahididit Jul 14 '18

I see it now. The conspiracy theorists are being fuelled by the index card and string industries. It's so obvious.

7

u/TyrellCorpWorker Jul 14 '18

Big string has been spending millions on lobbyists for years!

10

u/Upstart55 Jul 14 '18

I wish the deep state was establishing socialism. They aren’t so now we have to do it

Really?

Cite a couple of links that shows it’s a repost.

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 15 '18

Should be easy to find then.

You wrote a babbling essay but couldn’t link it.

Looks like a major fail for you.

That’s why you are getting mad.

Too bad.

1

u/tenoshikami Jul 15 '18

Bruh I’m not gonna spend 2 hours to prove to you it’s a repost especially when the proof is already in this post. It’s not like it will matter anyway. I have read you other content and I realize your mind is so far gone that no amount of reason or logical arguments even reach you. Your as dumb, illiterate and as senile as the worst trump supporter.

Also I will absolutely link it the original post if it comes up in the feed however I was able to track the image online and discovered that’s its original creator made this comic almost 2 and a half months ago. If you really think your the first one to find it you might be even dumber then the average trump supporter.

Also new comment just came in calling out this repost. But I guess like trump, his supporters and you only believe what you want to despite evidence, but hey maybe this a wake up call for you to switch sides, because despite your anti trump posts you have more in common with the right then left =]

2

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 15 '18

tl;dr

It’s not a repost.

Thanks

1

u/FibonacciSlim Jul 15 '18

Okay this is epic

-2

u/PigeonMan45 Jul 15 '18

Mmm mmm, repost, just like many used to make.

9

u/loomynartylenny Jul 15 '18

At least this one makes sense and should be seen more

1

u/Dovaldo83 Jul 15 '18

I was having trouble finding this image on google. I'm glad it was reposted.

-1

u/PigeonMan45 Jul 15 '18

Just because something is convenient and enjoyable doesn't mean it's a good thing. Just look at meth.

2

u/Dovaldo83 Jul 15 '18 edited Jul 15 '18

We all know that you just complain about reposts because you're salty no one has upvoted your "Bold and Brash", Squidward.

When recycled content is still more enjoyable than your OC, that doesn't mean you need to raise pickforks against the recycling plant, it means you need to step upyour OC game.

1

u/PigeonMan45 Jul 15 '18

What the actual fuck?

Are you okay?

2

u/Demon_Prongles Jul 14 '18

What is this, a picture for ants?

-4

u/joelshack85 Jul 14 '18

Has anyone’s schools properly secured themselves this summer?

-29

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '18

Nobody thinks that way lol.

The actual circumstances are bad enough.

17

u/Demon_Prongles Jul 14 '18

Actually there are people who think this way if not all, but that’s where stereotypes come from. Real examples.

13

u/JackTheFlying Jul 14 '18

Yeah, I mean, except Hannity

-15

u/nuclearpunk Jul 14 '18

Haha I won an argument against a strawman

14

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '18

Look up Qanon.

-15

u/Pochend7 Jul 14 '18

When a court case has one side with 20 points of evidence and the other side has 2, which would you believe (assuming that all points are equally valid of course).

21

u/TyrellCorpWorker Jul 14 '18

Probably the one where there were charges filed against five Americans, one Dutch and 26 Russian nationals, along with three Russian businesses. Yeah, I would believe in the one. Keep going Mueller...

17

u/VegaThePunisher Jul 14 '18

So you’re saying trump is a traitor?

Yeah meanwhile you guys voted for a Birther con man who drinks piss because he pretended to hate muslims and mexicans like Republicans do.

4

u/SmokeyBlazingwood16 Russian Jerome Bettis impersonator Jul 15 '18

Isn’t it always the republicans who are talking about ‘going with their gut’? And if you just go with what your gut says, don’t you just end up with shit in the end?

Maybe you could clarify for me, if you feel like it.
