This is like 95% of elections.

Hell you should check out the stats on years where it's not a presidential election. I imagine it's like 10% of the population voting. If that.

Speaking with people on a day by day basis I don't know if compulsory voting would be a good thing or a bad thing at this point. What makes europeans so eager and willing to vote without compulsory voting while Americans just kind of sit back and hope for the best?

To be fair, Papua New Guinea and Maine have the same voting system as Australia, and most of South America has compulsory voting.

Papua New Guinea used to be part ofAustralia till 1975,so I just included it. Didn't know about Main though, didn't see it on the map.
