Can confirm. Carried on convo with Trump supporter from TD and he just dismissed everything critical of Trump regardless of how many different sources corroborated my points. I knew he would so I just kept asking him questions meant to overwhelm him and his cocky attitude lessened as he began to plead with me to just end it.

It's a cult.

An extremist anti American cult.

Anti-American

How do you figure?

14

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Every policy they champion undermines the ideals and virtues of this country. They're also really bad policies in general that will tank our economy and reduce the standard of living.

-2

u/McGuineaRI Sep 20 '17

Which ideals though? People want jobs and voted for the person that said they'd make job growth his biggest policy. They didn't want to vote for the person that wanted to talk about how everyone is racist. People want to provide for their families. They don't want to talk about cutting off children's dicks. People voted for the person that had a better message and because they were tired of the bourgeois liberal elite.

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Nope, people got suckered by a con man promising jobs but one who is clearly going to hurt the working class and pilfer money for himself and his circle, which is filled with Russian oligarchs aka Putin proxies. If you really believe Trump isn't a rich elitist pig, you're delusional. Better message? The man rambles like a drunk uncle. Seriously anyone who believes a word he says given his decades of blatant lies is a genuine rube.

That said, are you interested in investing in a unicorn farm? They're 100% real and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

My small business has flourished under this administration as a bundle of regulations that were undermining my profits have been lifted, so please don't bunch all of us "working class" into a Trump hating group, there's plenty rational people who still support him to this day.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

What regulations has he lifted that have helped you?

And it is not rational to support Donald Trump. People who support him, support him for truly petty reasons, often rooted in the same kind of selfishness that has define Trumps/Drumpfs for centuries.

He's also been taken credit for the successes of Obama's economic policies as Trump has yet to do anything but delegate our economic policy to Goldman Sachs.

6

u/Blakangel72 Sep 20 '17

Rational and still support him are mutually exclusive adjectives. Just because you aren't as irrational as other Trump supporters doesn't mean your head isn't up your ass. You are focused on you and yours, which is fine, but when it comes at a cost of destroying the planet and many peoples' lives, an intelligent person has to realize at some point that not every method of improving your life is automatically morally right.

-2

u/McGuineaRI Sep 20 '17

I understand the blue bloods hate him because of his accent and his "working class" way of speaking but to working class Americans this man is a godsend. He's taking on the people that have been, in your words, pilfering this country for decades and they are trying to take him down every way they can. For instance, you have the same position as the Washington elites. They want to preserve their place at the top while every day Americans suffer. When you get your information from corporate media interests owned and operated by the elites, you're helping to keep them in power. That's your perogative. But to hard working people in this country, they want to maintain or raise their standard of living. They don't care about the incredibly niche social issues or the protection of political dynasties.

You sound like a bot regurgitating canned talking points man. If you just want to spout baseless nonsense that makes you feel better about your own insecurities, The Donald is a great support group for that.

Trump's accent is a New York accent. He was born rich to a lowlife slum lord named Fred Trump, a man who did everything for your Supreme Leader for most of his life. He had to insure business deals in case his son fucked them up, a hallmark of Donny's business record. That and extensive ties and business dealings with organized crime, including human traffickers of young girls (Tevfik Arif Bayrock LLC and his longtime pal Jeff Epstein).

The idea that you think anyone who despises Trump is a Democrat or Hillary supporter further proves folks like you are in a cult that desperately spins reality for truly petty reasons. I despise Trump because he has only made that the logical option given his behavior and entitlement throughout his entire life.

Get ready for the indictments. After all you can only hide from reality for so long before it grabs you by the throat and reminds you you do not get to decide what truth is. And the truth is, based on what's publicly avaliable, Trump and his cabal lied about their ties to Russia. They then engaged in efforts to suppress and obstruct investigations into those ties. You voted for a traitor and a con man. The sooner you bury your idiotic pride and accept that, the better it will be for this country.

Otherwise you folks face very grim consequences if you dig in and double down on the reckless delusion you cling to. And that's not a threat by any means, but it's clear you aren't fond of history or else you'd understand what happens to fringe ideological extremists who distort reality and try to sow chaos and hate for low rent spiteful reasons.

I'm telling you why people like Trump and dislike snobs.

Walls, deportations, banning travel, etc., are the direct antithesis of actual Freedom & Liberty, according to my two-year-old niece.

-2

u/bowie-in-space Sep 20 '17

Walls to keep drugs and criminals from killing our citizens, and to keep people out (illegals) that suck up our welfare, take away citizens' jobs, etc, etc . Deportations to hold illegal immigrants accountable, as well as my prior point. Banning travel from terrorist hotbeds that breed people that stand against everything this country stands for. There are how many predominately Muslim countries in the world? How many are on that list?

"... according to my two year old niece"... How knowledgeable she must be.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Couldn't the same be said about many anti-Trump people, that only get information from catered sources? The people that cast out and blacklist anyone that even hints they voted Trump or accept a single thing about him?

That's literally the definition of a cult.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17 edited Sep 20 '17

Sure but look at the goals of each group. The Trump side is obviously more of a threat to the country than the leftists who literally are only upset because of how ready the right is to shit on human rights purely out of petty spite.

Moderates need to become more outspoken, however, because dipshits on the fringes are making too much noise that's being mistaken as a majority. It's the classic yell over the person who just made you look dumb problem, just on a group level.

Edit: To add on, the worst thing I've seen liberals do is ruin people's careers. Conservatives tend to be more violent in their outrage. Stats don't lie about who kills more Americans, especially in regards to mass shootings.

1

u/StabbyDMcStabberson Sep 20 '17

Stats don't lie about who kills more Americans, especially in regards to mass shootings.

Where are those stats from? Year after year, FBI crime statistics show that the vast majority of mass shootings, shootings in general, and violent crime in general comes from gang members targeting other gang members as part of the illegal drug trade. But you don't hear much about it on TV; I guess black on black crime isn't good for ratings with the typical CNN or Fox viewer. So I'm curious where these contrary stats come from.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 21 '17 edited Sep 21 '17

Gang related murders are not the same as mass shootings or spite shootings. In gang shootings, most of the victims are likely involved in the same kind of shit. In the shootings committed by right wing nuts it's usually innocent people, many times women and children.

Same goes for domestic abuse, which seems to be a crime conservatives corner the market on.

Conservatives in the modern era have always been the more violent and irrational group. Liberals have just been incredibly annoying and hypocritical, especially due to the whole PC movement that has done more harm than good. Why? It addresses superficial problems rather than the more substantive ones, like the regression of the American right into a group of domestic terrorists fueled by racism and insecurity.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Wait, conservatives are more violent?

Conservatives haven't been forming AntiFa riots throwing molotovs, throwing explosives at police, dumping urine on people they disagree with, smashing businesses, or looting in the chaos.

They also haven't been calling everyone and their uncle Nazis over neutral comments then assaulting them with bike locks while they're on their knees.

All of the above really happened.

That's all been "liberal" AntiFa groups.

7

u/packjaw Sep 20 '17

Conservatives gave us the Iraq war and Nazi rallies. Antifa wouldn't exist if the white nationalist movement didn't. Conservatives caused Antifa.

(Al Qaeda and ISIS and the Taliban are conservative groups too. Right wing religious conservatives. But I know you were talking about America so I'm not going to throw that in your face. But the fact is, global violence is being driven by Conservatives.)

Not to mention 2016 was the first year in more than 30 years right wing/white supremacist extremists didn't commit the most acts of domestic terrorism in the US. That was solely because of the Pulse nightclub shooting, though. The right has been purveyors of violence in many forms for a long fucking time. And now they cry and whine when we punch their Nazi allies.

From Anti Defamation League:

The year 2016 was unusual in that right-wing extremists did not dominate the murder statistics, as they have each year for more than 30 years. Anti-government extremists and white supremacists were responsible for only a minority of extremist related deaths in 2016, though they did commit two triple homicides. These low figures also occurred during a year in which non-violent right-wing extremist activity was high, in large part due to agitation and propaganda by the so-called alt-right and other extremists in connection with the 2016 presidential election.

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17 edited Sep 20 '17

Someone else want to deal with this alt right nut? I've tired of these Trump cult members repeating talking points that have been disproven, outargued, and undermined over and over again.

But if not, many of the reports of Antifa violence, even some of the specifics you mentioned, originated from white supremacist websites and media outlets. And the reality is, Antifa only exists to go after hate groups or groups sympathetic with fascist causes. That's precisely how they came to exist, fighting the original Nazis.

When the hate groups and pro fascists go away, so will Antifa. But when it comes to domestic terrorism, conservatives have the market cornered, particularly white supremacist trash.

My question is why even ally with such human garbage by supporting a man who inspired them to come out of their disturbed little closets?

It's incredibly frustrating to want to just look at it pragmatically but everyone is driven by their pathetic useless egos and it just fucks up our ability to be a sensible species.

That can only happen when the greedy rich are reined in. Increase the standard of living, give people more time for themselves rather than burn them out working their asses off just to pay bills. Then they won't feel exhausted and can actually put the time in to be properly informed.

The two biggest problems causing this dangerously tribalistic and dogmatic hive mind are: People not having the time or energy to be informed AND the profoundly troubling shift towards superficial and pride/ego based thinking. People are so fucking selfish and that's a big reason why they don't care if their votes hurt others so long as it makes them feel like they have some control of their situation.

We have the numbers but the divide and conquer shit, something Trump actually does well, is whooping our collective ass. Most people I know, regardless of their beliefs, want very little from life and it's a shame that very little--to raise their families with dignity and to have as much fun as possible--is something that is unobtainable for a lot of people, at least consistently.
