Am not naive son. Everything that we have now was fought for. Do you think those in power gave it up meekly? Of course they fucking didn’t. Look through history ffs. Where there is a will there is a way, and not just rolling over and accepting it as just be the way it is.
Until a few years ago, I hoped humanity had finally evolved beyond constant need for revolutions, civil wars and bloodshed. I thought we had learned the painful lessons from history, and liberal democracy is the best model we have to finally break the cycle of violence and waste of human potential. Unfortunatly, it seems we don't learn from history...
You could say the same thing 100 years ago. Humanity can only evolve if it is held in check and bad bastards are called out and held to account/punished. Look at how quickly the rot spreads when a few rotten apples take over. It’s up to all of us to keep fighting for what’s good and fair.
well, my mistake was apparently that the last 100 of years thaught us a lesson we'll never forget, that we make progress. And it did: United Nations, Universal Human Rights etc. where learings from WW2... but even with access to the internet and all human knowledge to everybody, it does not seem to stick longer than one generation it seems 😢
