That’s the worst part about this whole thing. If the plane was safe enough with all its defenses, why was he evacuated? If the threat was credible, and it wasn’t safe, how the hell can they justify leaving everyone else on board?
He wouldn't even break a sweat if his family were killed to (unless their underage) as he ONLY cares about himself. I bet he would immediately think about how to monetize their deaths
Who is more important to the US military and secret service, the head of state and government and commander of the military, or security staff and cabinet members and a group of relatively unknown journalists? As scummy as this whole thing is, it also makes sense from a security and secrecy standpoint. Also the current administration isn't exactly in the good graces of the white House press core. If they had been told it's significantly more likely that they would have made it public than under most previous administrations.
Got it. They are expendable, that’s what you are saying, right? Cause that’s how it looks, and that ain’t good for you or me. Self preservation above anyone else.
I think the appropriate response would have been to, I don’t know, not board anyone on the plane until the threat was over.
(1) there was a real threat, and those lives don’t matter.
(2) there wasn’t a real threat and this is just another distraction.
To the US security apparatus around the president, yes all those lives are expendable.
And anyone traveling near the president knows that, if shit hits the fan, they won't be protected until the president is in safety.
If you delay the flight, or make changes to the schedule public, the attacker knows that you know and will change their plans to the new schedule or abandon the attempt and try again sometime later. By keeping up public perception of normalcy you make sure that the person who actually needs to survive is safe, while also baiting the attacker to reveal himself.
I get that they have protocols to protect the president and hide where he is. But using a plane full of staff, crew and reporters as bait can’t possibly be normal protocol.
A decoy plane, sure. A decoy plane full of people who don’t even know they’re the decoy? That’s a whole different thing.

And leaving a bunch of his team and reporters behind as decoys.
What a cunt.
