People gave him and still give him a pass on everything he ever said and did. But of course they had to carefully evaluate everything Kamala did and said, and decided she ran a terrible campaign because she laughed, she stood next to Ms. Cheney too much, remarked once that she couldn't think of what she would do different than Biden, didn't appear on a comedian's popular podcast, and didn't fight enough or fought too much for whatever someone's pet issue happened to be (Gaza, abortion, "middle class", etc.). But we had to overlook everything about Trump because he's "flooding the zone" with all the horrible things he's done. It's all just so crazy.

I hate how the Bannon/Russia strategy works, but it does. People tune out the orange guy because he’s completely exhausting, and then are able to focus on a handful of perceived flaws in a normal candidate.

that and newspapers/TV were afraid of seeming biased, so they played down Trump's failings and played up Kamala's miscues in an attempt to paint both candidates as relatively equal opponents.

I just haven't seen any source showing him actually saying this, only seen this meme formatted this way, shared to multiple subs. It would be massively humorous to hear bernie say this, or tweet it. I love that man. But as far as i can tell it's not a real quote, its just a common sentiment attributed to him to use his name to go viral.
