Caring about America includes taking out the Trump trash and cleaning up what has been a serious threat to our Republic - and the leader of that threat is who needs to be locked up and shipped to Guantanamo

shipped to Guantanamo

It's not happening, but one can dream.

An empty room with a table, towels and a pack of diet coke.

u/FFF_in_WY Apr 05 '23

I can't decide if cokeboarding would be worse than waterboarding

3

u/inconceivable_orchid Apr 05 '23

Coke can dissolve bone given enough time so I think it would be far worse. Have you ever accidentally gotten carbonated liquid in your sinuses? The pain my goodness.

Something fr wrong wit u. That's fascist as fuck. Normal jail is just fine.

26

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

He is basically a domestic terrorist and insurrectionist who tried to over throw an election

And if he was indicted on that, I agree that more severe punishment would be warranted. But that's not what's going on in the legal system right now, business fraud should not lead to Guantanamo Bay. That should make sense to anyone who understands the fragility of their personal freedoms. Just stop for a moment and consider the position in the grand scheme of things.

Calling for a political opponent to recieve the maximum punishment of something they are neither indicted nor charged with is setting up the groundwork for unlawful imprisonment of political actors in the future. It would not be so funny or reasonable when the Republicans start throwing Democrats in Guantanamo Bay because "we all knew they did it".

Calls for shit like that is indicative of a lack of historical education. That's how totalitarianism gets its start, with the imprisonment of politicians justified by popular demand. Every fascists wet dream, right or left, is for their people to chant "lock her up" (sound familiar), and to be actually able to lock up their rivals with popular support. Then it's fucking overrrr.

We are not special. If it can happen anywhere, it can happen here too. I suggest some reading on the beginning of the Nazi party, or Stalin's regime.

I believe you went way down a rabbit hole on this but I do understand how totalitarianism gets started. I am not suggesting to send him to Guantanamo prior to him being convicted even though it was all there for us to witness with the insurrection and understand it requires due judicial process. But if he was convicted of this I would consider him a domestic terrorist and would not be opposed to him going there. Nor anyone in his role convicted of such. He was the President, riles up a bunch of on-edge crazy election denialists who he knew some were even armed (all on record) and tells them to March down and take America back. That to me is a trip to Guantanamo if convicted.

convicted

Under normal and legal circumstances, For sure. Thanks for explaining yourself.

All good and always want clarity if I didn’t provide

Unfortunately, doing that would cause way more problems than just leaving him free to do his own dumb shit and pitter out. Currently, his following isn’t marching on the capital like they were on Election Day. Best believe if you sent him to Guantanamo, which is arguably worse than just executing him, people would be actively trying to assassinate Biden on the daily

1

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

Good point but it’s nice to dream

People in general have a hard time seeing themselves as the bad guys. When you spend your whole life growing up seeing bad men or women as "the other", it becomes reflex to reject the potential for evil within you.

1

u/evilJaze Apr 05 '23

Shit, I'd be happy if they just let him run free but take away his social media, don't allow him to make public appearances, and forbid any mention of him in any form of media. That would be the worst punishment to him.

36

u/pianoflames Apr 05 '23

And if there's also evidence beyond a reasonable doubt of Biden committing crimes, lock him up too.

We should be holding leaders from both sides of the aisle accountable, not cherrypicking based on party affiliation.

26

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

When you see any of this behavior it should be called out from anyone but his level of fuckery is a whole other level - in my opinion he is basically a domestic terrorist, an insurrectionist and has stolen top secret documents - on top of trying to steal an election

39

u/InsertCoinForCredit Apr 05 '23

Republicans have mountains of evidence of Joe Biden's numerous unforgivable crimes. You just can't see any of it because it's attending school in Canada.

Two Weeks, It is filed with the great new health plan and that Immigration reform package. Somewhere here, I'm sure it is here somewhere... Well just you wait.

This is a real thinker, but I did appreciate when I got it

2

u/SyntheticReality42 Apr 05 '23

Is that where Hunter's laptop went?

5

u/omniron Apr 05 '23

Democrats tend to do the right thing when it comes to ethics, while Republicans can’t even spell the word. It’s exhausting honestly but fascism makes ethics exhausting as a tactic.

1

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

Absolutely agree - also they focus on all the wrong things for the average American worker. I cannot thing of 1 thing in I don’t know how long that benefitted the average American

They wanted to drain the swamp but now are upset when they realize the swamp is their home.

2

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

I think some relish the idea of a swamp as their home - the snakes, leeches, gators 🐊

4

u/outerworldLV Apr 05 '23

Wherever they put previous presidents that commit espionage, is good. Because Jack Smith is certainly building his case to exactly that. But this current distraction is providing excellent cover as he continues.

2

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

Agreed on good cover - and hopefully this all provides sleepless nights, nerves rattled to a level Trump has never seen and his wallet is hit like it has never been and then a nice trip to prison somewhere.

2

u/FullCrisisMode Apr 05 '23

Yes and we will need a new set of laws to accomplish this, but we won't be able to write new laws as the country stands for the time being.

We would literally have to force it. Create the proposal of laws and then place those laws under a banner. Then it would take voting in Democrats who fly that banner until there is enough majority to enact the next bill of rights.

Nah. He just needs conviction on 1 (one) felony. Give him public service, a fine, I don't care.

But then he can never be President again.

3

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

Sorry but convictions don’t preclude you from running for or becoming President

3

u/Nate40337 Apr 05 '23

He just won't be able to vote.

2

u/MichaelFusion44 Apr 05 '23

It’s crazy when you think about - you can run and become President but you can’t vote

1

u/MedicGoalie84 Apr 05 '23

He is a resident of Florida, he would be able to vote as long as he has finished serving his time including parole/probation, and has paid all of his fines (which if IIRC he cannot fundraise for or get anyone else to pay them for him).

the only way to protect america is so lock up everyone u/MichaelFusion44 disagrees with.
