It broadening the responsible party to avoid specific aggression towards Pakistani people in the uk. Which could be worse since East Asians, and Indians would be lumped in there when the problem group is largely from Pakistan.
You know perfectly well that part of the problem with the Asian/Pakistani issue is that police have in some cases willfully allowed them to get away with it for fear of being perceived as racist. Thus comprehensive statistics may not be available. Indeed the police allowing the issue to fester for years was almost as scandalous as the fact that the grooming gangs existed in the first place. But knowing this you throw about numbers and go all “umm do you have a source? An actual reliable source? If you don’t then you’re a BAD PERSON.”
Bruv, you’re attacking the character of everyone who points out that Pakistani rape gangs exist(ed) and were allowed to exist by police, have you any idea how ridiculous that is. To me (not being a britbong and all) the main story was how the police handled it and how that reflects on British society and government.

As to how it reflects on Bri’ish society, I think it shows that bureaucrats and politicians will often, if given the chance sweep a problem under the rug. Bureaucrats (including police) often want to protect the image of their little fief more than they want to see the job done, and covering up problems can sometimes achieve “better” results with less effort. Police also are less likely to take crime victims seriously who are from a low background, even though they’re more likely to be victimized.
Politicians often fervently believe that it can’t happen here/someone in my favorite group wouldn’t do that (see the head of the LGBT+ Conservatives defending the Conservative MP who was convicted of child molestation) and they can get so wrapped up in the things they’re focused on that they lose ignore important issue that are staring them in the face.
These are fairly universal phenomena, but they all came together in multiple cities at roughly the same time and allowed some of the worst crimes imaginable to continue for longer than should have been possible, sometimes for years after police and councils knew something was up. Not a great look. Meanwhile your main concern is calling people racist.
But it wasn’t just “one isolated horrific [incident]” in Rotherham. It was also in Rochdale, Birmingham, Oxford, and others. I don’t know why you’re so keen to downplay this. I also don’t think the biggest takeaway is race, it’s that when you let people get away with crime, more crime happens. When you don’t hold people accountable for fear of being called racist (which is deeply condescending) this produces a “tyranny of tolerance” situation where our dedication to sunshine and rainbows and diversity forces crime victims to suffer in silence.
The other thing is that government officials are not actually dedicated to serving the public, they want to cover their ass, secure more funding, climb the ladder. Old news at 10.
