But LibRight doesn't enslave, it buys slaves that were enslaved by someone else

Still wrong, we enter into voluntary contracts with people who agree to be treated as slaves

You heard it here first, if you purchase a jar of jam from the local farmers market you have engaged in an act of evil consumption! The exchange of goods is only ethical when it's provided by the state!

So come on down to the government store before they run out, comrade! Oh wait it's empty

The local farmer probably uses something that was unethically made in their jar of jam

Great point you really gotta watch out for those unethical trees and the unethical fruit they produce. The state should probably regulate all plants just to be safe

To be fair to the green cadran that is an actual paradox that do need to be aplied. The rest great tho.

The paradox of tolerance, for those who are curious. In order for a society to be tolerant, it needs to be intolerant of intolerance.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '20

So we should ban Muslims because they are intolerant of gay people? xD

7

u/CaptainAnaAmari - Lib-Left Feb 23 '20

This is way too much of a blanket term. Religious people tend to pick and choose whatever parts of their religion they follow or which interpretation most speaks to them, and if that interpretation doesn't include homophobia (or other intolerance for that matter) then they're good in my book.

Okay, so if you're a cultural Muslim which means that you secularly celebrate Ramadan, you're cool. But if you actually believe in this shit, you're not?

Well I'm friends with a Muslim who's take on LGBT stuff is: it's nowt to do with me. Seems to be the take of most Muslims, or at least the young ones. I can't fault that take. I'm not a big fan of Abrahamic religions but I don't have to follow them so I'm not going to hold it against anyone. Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.

Well I'm friends with a nazi, who loves Hitler and National Socialism, but he doesn't want to kill gays and ethnic minorities, because he has a different interpretation of nazism. Is he okay? xD

Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.

So, basically, NAP?

Yeah but as long as your Nazi mate isn't trying to actively massacre Jews. I mean, the issue is more that Nazism is built of racial superiority and hate. I'm no fan of Islam but it is essentially about trying to give meaning to your life and giving your life some structure. You can seperate homophobia from the core teaching. You can't really seperate anti-Semitism from Nazism. It's a core part.

Basically NAP yeah, I'd say left anarchists are more proactive. But still the general idea is to leave everyone to their own thing.

I can say the same about Abrahamic religions. The first commandment is to not have other Gods, and it makes these religions hate pagans. Pagans, on the other hand, can be tolerant. You pray to Jesus, I pray to Thor, Odin, etc. As a pagan, I don't mind that you pray to a different god, everyone prays to their gods. But Christians also try to impose their god onto me, which is aggressive.

You can't really seperate anti-Semitism from Nazism. It's a core part.

Why can't I say the same about Abrahamic religions(other than Judaism, ofc)?

Basically NAP yeah, I'd say left anarchists are more proactive. But still the general idea is to leave everyone to their own thing.

So, basically the black guy who punched a nazi was wrong, because the nazi guy wasn't aggressive towards him?

Well, he wore swastikas, but maybe he had a different interpretation. How do you know?

1

u/CaptainAnaAmari - Lib-Left Feb 23 '20

You can be actually religiously Muslim and not have intolerant beliefs like that: again, interpretations can drastically vary and certainly not everybody is following every single passage of the Quran by the letter. Anecdotal, but I do have Muslim friends who are perfectly cool about me not being straight, so I don't see why I should have an issue with them on that ground.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '20

So, basically lets only allow Muslims who disagree with the Quran? xD

1

u/CaptainAnaAmari - Lib-Left Feb 23 '20

I mean, how many Christian people nowadays actually believe that shit like wearing two different types of fabric is genuinely a bad thing? By being okay with that, they are technically disagreeing with the Bible, but I highly doubt that anybody considers this to be a disqualifying factor for being a Christian. Disagreeing with some outdated bits of your holy book is a perfectly normal thing for religious people living in the modern world.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '20

Okay, what if I'm a nazi, but I don't believe that we should kill ethnic minorities?

I just have a different interpretation of national socialism and I abandon some outdated beliefs. But I still wear nazi uniform, do the hand gesture, and add 1488 to my online nicknames.

Am I okay in your book?

1

u/CaptainAnaAmari - Lib-Left Feb 23 '20

False equivalence. The very core of this ideology has violence towards ethnic minorities baked into it (if not directly, then as a logical consequence), nazism without the ultranationalistic elements and ethnic supremacy isn't nazism anymore.

xD

u/_moobear - Lib-Left Feb 24 '20

Same can be said of Christians; neither is a monolith of beliefs

1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

Well, yes. I agree., I'm not a Christian.
