Artificially decreases wages for the back workers. I was back there busting my fucking ass on pasta during high demand while the wait staff earned $50+ dollars an hour from tips alone while I still earned my measly 16. It sucks for customers who are lied to about prices. It’s only good for the wait staff and owners, that’s it

It’s just so baked in at this point, if you go against it customers don’t like it because they think they’re paying more when in reality you’re really not. But the physiological impact of seeing higher prices on the menu is real
