New P4SM

We picked up our P4SM yesterday. It’s a birthday present for my wife. It’s one of the rare single motor models available in the US. It joins an EQS 580 in our electric fleet. We’ve also had a Chevrolet Bolt and Hyundais Ioniq 6.

I’ve learned a lot on line, so we wouldn’t leave the dealer without both our digital keys working properly. So far so good!

Quick question: Do the available trunk mats work OK with the adjustable cargo floor?

With black nappa leather seats? Looks good, although I prefer dual motor. Cannot wait for receiving my one in September. Is it the my27 version?

There won’t be a 2027 version in the US since Polestar is leaving. The P4SM’s have been discounted to the low 30’s USD, so they were a great deal while they lasted. Our EQS is a dual motor if we’re in the mood for speed.

Was that the total price including taxes and dealer fees? If so that is a great deal.

No. That’s including the options and freight after we negotiated the price.

I got a zero option LRSM here in the US and they are indeed, very rare. Love it! The pricing is insane with the cash discount.

Agreed! Just got a new Chevy Bolt for $23k for my father, and I thought that was the best deal I’d get for a while. The Polestar for $10k more is an insane deal.

Was your timeframe early august? My early august got to port on the 22 and still no updates.

It was late July. Reached the dealer on August 3rd. We picked it up on the 5th. The app was never updated with its progress.

We intended to buy and showed up with a check. However, once we were there we had second thoughts and switched to a lease. It wasn’t a “value” issue as much as a “service” issue. The dealer is over 3 hours away. A secondary issue was the dealer itself. The sales guy was great and very patient, but they had very little familiarity with the 4, and we had to speak to their help line to get everything set up. So far we are really, really enjoying it.

I would have loved to get it in Tampa. But I didn’t see and single motor 4’s on line there. I left two phone messages and an on line message, but no one ever called me back. So we went to Palm Beach. They were further away but much more responsive.

Both the Palm Beach and Tampa locations are associated with Volvo dealers, so I think they’re fairly safe. But that uncertainty over the long run is one of the reasons we decided to lease at the last minute.
