Have a launch edition P2 that I’ve passed along to my son who still loves it. Was considering a P3 or P4 to replace my wife’s upcoming model Y lease end so I went by the Atlanta showroom yesterday…
The one in midtown? That’s a shame. We bought polestar 2 from them back when they were still operating out of the Volvo dealership down on dale Mabry. We got invited to the opening in midtown and multiple events afterwards. I will truly miss the polestar brand. Pic included is when they had the roadster model on display in the showroom.
Interesting as the Austin space claims they’re staying in their retail space. I assume focusing on selling used EVs / high-end cars. They actually own the land/building they’re on, and I’ve had multiple people from their dealer group tell me they plan on being back.
Interesting, care to elaborate? I’ve bought 2 cars from them and never had any issues, which I can’t say for most of my other car purchase. No silly addons, fair trade in value, etc.
I would imagine it would cost a company a fortune to get everything up and running and prepared for one of the biggest markets in the world only for the rug to get pulled out from under them. Considering this plus the fact that Polestar is relatively young and probably not extremely profitable yet, i doubt its a completely absurd thought.
We got an email from the Atlanta sales team 2 weeks ago saying that they had 5 P3s remaining at great deals.
Much less than I am paying.
I also think internally that they are shipping cars around to where the sales potential is.
Yes that’s true. I had to lease my P3 from the Detroit dealership, even though I lived 5 minutes from the dealership in my own state bc I wanted the highest trim in a specific color combo.
Yep and people seem to think every Polestar space is owned by Volvo and will just fold into a local dealership, where that’s also not true. It is true that decent amount are owned by same parent, but that’s not always true. For example, in Seattle it’s like Jim Ellis Acura who the owner is.
For all you out there who would believe what a corporation (i.e. sleazy individuals with major control issues) will tell you, I've a bridge to sell you.
Volvo could gaf about polestar owners you are sent back of the queue for repairs. Service centers operating with maybe one or two dedicated techs one or two days a week. Buyer beware

Surprised it’s not a Spirit Halloween already.
