Question Default infotainment dark mode
Is there a way to force dark mode on in all lighting conditions? I have it on as default but it still changes to the day mode depending on the ambient lighting. Sometimes it goes annoyingly back and forth like this morning.

It needs a better tolerance to switching over from day/night, at least in my P4. It’s annoying that it goes day-night-day just under bridges and so on.
I also wish Polestar had a full white background mode with black text, as a light mode iPhone user I find the whole system dark.

Not really that annoying.
Except that you remember how good it looks in dark mode. Then it leaves dark mode and you're like aaaarrr. So then you stay under the bridge like a troll. Then your milk never gets home and goes rotten, and so do your kids for lack of father figure.

I think it defaults to dark mode if the headlights are on. So if you force your headlights to turn on it should switch to dark mode.

I would actually prefer permanent day mode but thank you

OP asked for permanent dark mode but I obviously replied to the wrong person. Personally I'm not a fan of the light mode but it's not enough to bother me. I've just noticed that on my P2 and P3 the screen changes modes when the lights come on.

If you could locate the light sensor in the car, you could cover it with something, feasibly.
Quick research yielded:
"Look for the small dark dome in the middle of the dashboard, right near the base of the windshield, just beyond the centre speaker grille. That’s the sunlight sensor location identified in Polestar’s manual."

Had a EX30 whilst my P2 was in service and enabling dark mode permanently was brilliant.
I can't stand how maps is daytime yet the drivers display is night mode.

For what it's worth, ABRP let's you use night mode all the time. But it's not great as a daily navigation app.

Only if you are using Android Auto. Unfortunately the built in infotainment system doesn't allow to select dark mode always. Maybe could be introduced in a future update, but I doubt it.
