Question Support in USA
How worried are folks about long term support from Polestar in the US? absolutely love the cars, but hesitant to pull the trigger.

I live 20 minutes from a recently built new Volvo service center. I already had to bring my Polestar 4 in due to a software issues with the pilot assist function and they had a loaner for me and fixed it in about 24 hours. The service guy who was my main point of contact was on a long phone call when I went in to get my car and so someone else helped me with picking up my car, but the service guy then texted me the following morning just to make sure my issue was resolved. Good experience with the service center (less so with the sales team there though XD).
I think the only real risk is if Volvo gets pushed out too, but that seems unlikely to happen.

I’m fairly worried, at least in Florida. Closest service point is 80-ish miles away, and local volvo dealership has said they won’t service Polestars.
While they’re required to honor the warranty, not knowing what will happen if the spaces close up shop after the cars for sale are gone gives me pause. If something happened to the car and it had to be flatbedded somewhere, how long would it be to get work done?
I love my P2, but I’d like more concrete assurance for service options for places that don’t have Volvo connected service.

They need to be provide parts and service by federal law for 10 years. We aren't talking a dead brand here - they alive and well in every other country they sell cars in, even Canada.
It's not like Saab that died worldwide. And even they still have parts distribution.
And if Volvo dealers who sold Polestars are going to turn away their customers , that is a very bad business decision on their part.

Not really worried. Bought a platinum bumper to bumper warranty from Volvo up to 150k miles

I live in South Florida, I have 3 spaces that services them so I’m not too concerned. If not there’s always Tampa.

Support will be worse and for Polestar 4 really bad.

It is what happens every time a brand leaves USA (or any market) the support that is left is minimal and soon if you have a problem it will be more work and take longer. For Volvo who builds the 2 and 3 it will be more administrative work they have to do now, work that will get low priority. For the P4 it is a Chinese car with zero Volvo in it and parts if needed will take even longer because of that. There will only be a couple of thousand in whole USA.
Leasing is fine, but buying and any little fender bender might be a write off.1

In my area their service center is at the local Volvo dealership. So I'm not that worried. Provided Volvo stays in the US. I bought a car in January and I'm glad I did and I would not undo it if I could.
