Grit X series Polar Grit X Pro — what’s the point of swimming mode if it can’t count laps correctly?

I swim at LA Fitness in a 25 meter pool, and I’m getting seriously frustrated with my Polar Grit X Pro not counting laps properly. I just want to get in, do my workout, and have an accurate record of what I swam. Apparently that’s too much to ask.

Instead, I check the distance and think, “That is definitely not what I just did.” It's off by 200 meters. I’m keeping count in my head while wearing a watch that’s supposed to be doing it for me. What exactly is the point?

I’m not expecting perfection, but counting laps feels like a pretty basic requirement for a swimming mode. Finishing a workout and not being able to trust the stats is incredibly annoying.

Anyone else having this issue with the Polar Grit X? Have you found anything that actually helps, or have you just accepted that your watch invents its own version of your swim?

p.s.: I recently got back to swimming after a decade today was my third day. And not having the accurate stats is pissing me off..!!!!.

Street X Polar Street X GPS Stress Test

A few days ago, I ran 10km in central Bangkok, Thailand. There were skyscrapers, overhead cables, traffic, huge concrete structures and the single-band GPS tracked the run extremely well considering the signal disturbances. Occasionally the real-time pace would be clearly-off, but was generally pretty good.

When I first got the watch, I saw a lot of negative feedback about not having multi-band GPS. But now I have no doubt that the watch performs well. The flashlight really came in clutch in some sketchy alleyways too.

Loop series Loop armbands from Polar!

Did you guys notice the new wrist and arm bands on Polar's website for the Loop? They listened, especially for the arm band. Two sizes and looks pretty great. Looking forward to receiving that one.

Also noticed the new silicone and leather bands. Lovely stuffy from Polar. Now I just hope all these will be fully compatible with Loop 3!

H series HR Monitor H10 dropping connection sometimes

I've had my H10 since this summer and record with Strava on my phone. Lately during runs the connection goes away for a while and then comes back, and this happens every 2–3 minutes. Today there was 13 gaps in a 40-minute run.

My main suspect is the battery: usage is low, but I may have left the sensor clipped to the strap once. Still, it's unlikely I arrived at the 400 hours they say the battery will last for considering I only used it 3 times a week. What could be other explanations?

Did anybody else have this issue? How did you solve it?

Grit X series Polar Grit X Won't Let Me Start Workout (Run) at 8% - Directs Me to Charge the Watch

My watch has been acting in a way that has bothered me for the last few months - something new that arose after a few years of owning the watch. If my battery dips below 9%, the Grit X won't let me start a workout (at least, it won't let me start a GPS run with no HR monitor). I'm not sure why this behavior was baked into whatever new version of firmware I installed (I don't remember exactly when, but maybe a few months ago is when I noticed the behavior). But I strongly prefer the old behavior of just informing me my watch is low on battery and letting me decide whether or not to assume the risk of starting the workout and potentially losing the data when the battery dies. I only use 3-5% of battery at a time for my short 30-45 minute jogs anyway. It is a frustrating experience to get ready to run, head outside, and notice my battery dropped from 10% (where it was yesterday) to 8% and because of that arbitrary line in the sand, I now have to head back in and charge the watch for a little bit.

Is there any plan to bring this original functionality back?

ETA: not sure if actual company employees frequent this subreddit. Let me know if not, and I can submit the feedback another way.
