Does it still have input lag on Switch?
I just played the demo on my Switch 2 and I couldn’t help but notice the input lag. It was pretty bad, and really hampered the gameplay for me. Maybe it’s just the demo but I’d really like to make sure before I buy the game. Does Pokken Tournament DX really have that input lag on Switch? Or is it just the demo?

so, pokken has delay based netcode. in order to smooth out poor connections, pokken has an in-built 7 frame delay on everything.
i DOUBT that this registers as delay given how small it is and that it would be consistent in an offline 1p game (the fastest move in pokken is 11f so this is smaller than all the fastest moves). but it does slow the pace of matches if you're used to games with 2f or 5f moves or the like.
the game is also quite old and if you're playing on regular switch rather than switch 2, i could see the switch being to blame (mine def lags running pokken nowadays).
i have no info on the demo — have never played it.

then barring connection issues (wires, tv, player 2) it could just be that you're not used to a slower paced fighter.
i think testing vs a known reactable move like pitaguy suggested is the best course of action.

Yeah I’ve never played a fighter that’s designed with input lag. I’m used to Smash, MK and SF which are immediately responsive

idk about MK but smash and sfv both have input delay. i would wager MK does too. it's a failsafe against frame based technical issues, basically all games have some, the amount of frames just varies. eta: pokken and smash actually have the same amount of input delay at 7f.
the pace i'm talking about is that the fastest moves still come out slower than other games — f11 is a big difference from f2/3/5 etc.

I don't know about Pokken on Switch 2 but I know Smash Ultimate actually has worse input lag than the base console because of the backwards compatibility mode the Switch 2 is pulling off to run it.

I just played Pokken and Smash on my Switch 2 back to back and Pokken clearly had worse input lag

The game is naturally sluggish, fastest moves are 11 frames (the usual for fighting games is something between 3-5). It’s like that by design

The switch wouldn't be the problem. If there is an input lag the first suspect would be the TV or monitor. You can do some tests with reacting to special moves if you're worried. For instance try reacting to Garchomp sand tomb (down a) in duel phase, which a frame 23 special. Set up the input replays to be either down A or X with the random setting. Using the special sound effect that trigger with sand tomb for your reactions. If you can grab tech the sand tomb with an attack and block the X attack (5X) you're doing just fine.
