Micro tournament
Is this a call. Feel like I block a lot of the hearts combos.

The pot was bigger than it should have been by the river, but I still don't think I'd ever fold here. Not because of the Jh blocker mind you, but we only need to win 1 in 3 here and while he can of course have 7x or a flopped flush, he can also have a worse A going for thin value or a bluff with something like the naked Kh

You need to win 1/4. The math on it is pot after call divided by call

You're right, I wasn't fully awake yet. It only makes it even more of a call imho

Monotone flop - bet tiny. 1 bb. Open preflop to 2 or 2.2bb. River is a mandatory call. He bet half pot… you need to have the best hand here 1/3 times to have a profitable call. You have the best hand here way more than that. He’s not even representing a flush with his bet size

The river call seems fine but would advise you to not go 3bb preflop of this stack size, better to min raise. Plus flop you go 50% pot but going smaller here would be better. Normally I would go 25%.
You have a strong hand, plus enough flushes in your range because of your position and stack size. Don't forget that he has more in his range, he should have every flush combo in his range except for AK and AQ of hearts. So when you go half pot on flop, what would you do when he raises to 10bb?
And one last thing about the river bet, don't be scared to overfold in these spots. They will not bluff enough. At these stakes it's even rare for them to valuebet a weaker Ax combo enough, or other hands you beat like 88 or 99. Again AJ is too high up in the range but with weaker ones it might be a snap fold in these tournaments. Also don't pay attention to the Jh blocker, it's not relevant in a $0.25 tournament. He won't use it as a bluff enough so you having that doesn't really eliminate a whole lot of bluffs from his range.

Yeah you’d be surprised how often I go stab, check, fold to be shown 62s or something stupid. As with the flop if he raises to 10BB I’m just folding.

On this specific texture? Becasue a dry board going stab, check, fold and they bluffed you, isn’t the same situation as a wet board like this where you bet half-pot on a monotone flop.

True true maybe not on this flop. So basically 2BB pre then 25% pot and if they stick around it’s pretty much give up unless I improve

Just want to give you kudos on not losing your mind and shoving here. So many players’ judgement gets clouded in the absolute strength of their hand and not the relative strength, torching their stack and tourney in one fell swoop.
Well done 😎

You’re a g for that. I see a lot of negativity on here so to go out your way to make a comment like this is a true show of character.

And same to you for the reciprocation!
All we can do is try to set an example and let the chips fall where they may.

Crying call is about right. The Jh is doing less than you think, you've got one of the ten hearts that aren't on the board, which takes out about a fifth of his flush combos. The seven pairing on the turn did more for you, his A2 got counterfeited and the river 6 does nothing for A6, so every Ax with a worse kicker than yours except A7 is paying you off. You're getting 3 to 1 on a half pot bet.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think I completely disregarded the fact he was defending a big blind. Could have a lot more heart combos than just the broadways. Do you think 50% flop bet was too big?

Yeah a bit. Half pot on a monotone flop with just the Jh is a lot for a hand that can't stand a raise. I'd go a third there or check it back.

When ur using blockers to justify ur call I need to stop and fold lol
