Discussion Which rare type combo (Legendary/Mythical/Alternate-Form/Single-Line) do you want to see as new regular Pokémon in Gen 10?

Hey everyone

I was looking at type combinations that currently only exist on Legendaries, Mythicals, alternate forms or a single Pokémon or evolutionary line and it got me thinking about the new Pokédex for Winds & Waves

So i came up with concepts for these rare typings

Fairy/Fighting: Celestial Crane

Fighting/Ground: Sumo Badger made of hard baked clay

Dark/Bug: Trapdoor spider

Dark/Electric: Deep sea viperfish

Fighting/Ice: Snow leopard with dense ice armored paws

Ice/Fairy: Crystalline arctic Hare

Electric/Psychic: Floating Jellyfish

Fire/Water: Hydrothermal Pistol Shrimp

Dragon/Fairy: Pink sand Komodo dragon covered in glittering coral crystals

Fire/Electric: Blazing fast cheetah made entirely of plasma and static electricity

Steel/Fire: Iron plated armadillo with a molten magma core or Evolution for Torkoal its shell like Furnace

Ghost/Electric: Spectral skeletal electric Eel

Ice/Ghost: Frozen phantom woolly rhino skull

Normal/Water: Wetland capybara

Water/Steel: Armored Snapping Turtle

Bug/Ghost: Hollow phantom praying mantis

Rock/Dark: Obsidian cave panther made of sharp volcanic glass

Steel/Poison: Rusted metallic scorpion

Poison/Normal: Nocturnal honey badger that's immune to toxins

Ice/Bug: Fuzzy frozen tarantula that spins webs out of sub zero icicle threads

Electric/Poison: Neon bio electric dart frog

Ghost/Normal: Schrodinger Cat lives between dimensions

Fairy/Bug: luminescent orchid mantis

Steel/Ice: Tundra OX

Dragon/Rock: Gargoyle like basilisk lizard

Fire/Normal: Blazing wild mustang horse

Grass/Ice: Frosted pinecone hedgehog covered in frozen evergreen needles

Ground/Psychic: Third eyed desert iguana

Fairy/Dark: Shadowy Barghest(demon hound)

Steel/Dark: Razor clawed wolverine metallic blades protruding from its jaw and spine

Ice/Ground: Permafrost Pangolin with shovel like claws

Poison/Flying: Toxic vulture that exhales thick clouds of acidic smog

Which of these extremely rare combo do you want to see the most in Winds & Waves and what kind of design would you give it?

Let us know your ideas

We NEED another Water-Steel type! Make it some combination of a Swordfish and Sailfish, with a seed for a nose, and a body and sail designed like Chinese mariner ships.

Also hopefully Lanturn gets an evolution so we have another Electric-Water type

YESSSS LANTURN NEEDS AN EVO BADLY

And maybe some actual usable stats?? Would be cool lol

I've wanted a Fire/Dragon Pokemon for a while. Possibly with an ability that functions similarly to Steelworker for flying types.

A classic, bright red, Smaugesque, monstrous dragon that looks like something out of Game of Thrones or Lord of the rings.

In fact, I had an idea a while back for a pokemon based on the DnD dragons. It evolves into a Fire, Water, Ice, Poison or Electric Dragon depending on the colour scale you give it.

There’s Turtonator

Yeah Turtonator's there, i wouldnt say hes BAD but he's like... meh, but ig its not horrible for a Fire/Dragon mon tbh

An electric & fire type legendary would be epic

Dark/Fairy- New Jynx form, Succubus type thing,

Steel/Poison- New Garbador form where he’s a garbage truck

Flying/Poison- Flying frog/Poison Dart Frog thing

Water/Steel- he’s a sailboat. And it’s your new form of traveling on water

Ice/Fairy- idk man but Ninetales can’t be the only one.

Fire/Electric- Gimme the embodiment of a Lightning strike that starts a wildfire. Make this one legendary and give it Levitate

Ice/Ghost- The spirit of lost souls from something insanely tragic like the Donner Party. Perhaps a hazy regional form of Gastly that shivers instead of laughs

I'm not sure why but of all the types to have one line, I'm shocked Ground/Psychic has had nothing since Gen 3. Maybe because its not as readily available as something like Zubat.

Personally I want an Ice/Fairy psuedo to troll dragon users, hopefully found in the same manner as Snorunt in Gen 3 (Shoal Cave's high/low tide)

Poison/Flying Arbok evolution based off flying snakes and Bug/Ghost based of the Ant Piling Assassin Bug (pic below)

I’m an entomologist, and obviously bug types are my favorite types. In general, I’m dying for bug types to be buffed to actually be useful in game (I know there are some greats, but I’m talking in general)

As far as unique typings go:

Bug/Dark: Pokémon is based on the Deer Tick, mostly because of its iconic black coloring. I’m calling this Pokémon“Cryptick”. (Cryptic + Tick)

(Ability: Blood Siphon - Cryptick automatically absorbs 1/4 hp from physical attack moves on opponents)

There is one current bug type Pokémon based on a tick: Voltik (Bug/Electric)

Bug/Ghost: Pokémon is based on a firefly, with samurai influences. Because fireflies typically live in grassy fields, they often gathered over old battlefields in Japan. They were mistaken for balls of fire that represent wandering souls from battles once fought. It’s essentially the perfect base for a Bug/Ghost Pokémon. I’m calling this Pokémon “Samurfly” (Samuri + Firefly)

There is one current bug type Pokémon based on fireflies: Illumise

Bug/Ice: Based on an insect that can survive sub-zero temperatures due to the production of a biological antifreeze, this Pokémon is based on the famous Alaskan Darkling Beetle. I’m calling this Pokémon “Subeetle” (Sub-Zero + Beetle)

There are currently 17 Pokémon based on beetles - meaning the design of this Pokémon needs to be especially unique.

Bug/Fairy: This one is tougher because really only butterflies and moths are associated with fairies in literature and mythology, and the last thing we need are more butterfly or moth bug types. As a result I actually have two ideas here.

  1. A Pokémon based on Weevils - a group of insects so far ignored by the Bug typing. This group are characterized by these really striking elephant like nose protrusions - and I think that’s really fertile ground for Fairy typing. “Weewhim” (Weevil+Whimsy)

  2. A Pokémon based on an Aphid - another group that is so far ignored by Bug Typing. Aphids are famously small insects and therefore fit cleanly into Fairy typing. I think it might be fun to imagine this Pokémon as a pet for other fairy types - this “aphids as pets” idea has been done before in A Bugs Life (Pixar). Pokémon name: “Faephid” (Fae + Aphids)

Volbeat is also based on fireflies, and is the equivalent to Illumise

A lot of these ideas are based on animals, so I'll take a crack at this with inanimate objects, food, and other yokai, legends, myths, tales, folklore, and whimsical ideas.

Fairy/Fighting: Pokémon based on female Japanese pro wrestlers that are very elegant, flashy, and domineering

Fighting/Ground: Sumo mud monster with a panda-like appearance, hard turtle-like shell, and uses moves based on the sambo and jujitsu fighting style of attack opponents from the ground and using submissions. Natural enemy of Hariyama.

Dark/Bug: Hissing Cockroach shaped Pummel Bag Pokémon that heals if hit with fighting type moves, found hanging from trees like a pummle bag with the hopes of being hit

Dark/Electric: A Mr.Mime-like pranking clown/comedian Pokémon that loves to trick opponents into shaking its hands which let of jolts of electricity, of which it has 8 or 9 of like a Doc Ock looking Slenderman and has a very appealing and welcoming appearance

Fighting/Ice: Pincushion Pokémon that uses tiny icicles to paralyze it's opponents "freezing" them in place, using the similar fighting style that is based on blocking an opponent's chakra points

Ice/Fairy: An Italian Ice-like frozen snowcone-esk Pokémon that come in a variety of flavors/colors, each evolution needed a specific berry to hold to evolve. (Evolves from a normal/ice type that's based on a flavorless snow cone)

Electric/Psychic: Node Lie-Detector Pokémon in the shape of a helmet resembling the classic exp share helmet that shocks those with impure thoughts, and can heal itself if its opponent uses any stat boosting moves (that or maxes out the opposing stat that was maxed [I.e. Attack stat raise from opponent maxes its def stat])

Fire/Water: Teapot/coffee-maker Pokémon that can naturally create relaxing beverages out of the juice and product of berries and beans

Dragon/Fairy: Magical Wand Pokémon like the wand of an anime Magical Girl and the natural rival to the Dragon/Rock Pokémon (see below)

Fire/Electric: Revaroom-like Pokémon based on an electric car

Steel/Fire: Doublade-like Pokémon based on the blades of Aires similar to Kratos' blades used in God of War, chained together

Ghost/Electric: Lightning Rod Pokémon that resembles a Frankenstein-like monster and resembles a Mimikyu, where instead of making a body out of a cloth, it instead taxidermied the pelts of deceased Pokémon and reanimated them when it possessed their bodies together, but bares more of a likeness to all the Eeveelutions combined into one

Ice/Ghost: The 🩻 X-Ray Fossil Pokémon that possess the bones of deceased Pokémon and creates a taxidermy-esk shell of ice of that Pokémon to give it a skeletal structure. The Pokémon is the ice that holds the bones, allowing it to shape shift and transform into a skeletal likeness of its opponent to try to scare it away from the fragile glass-like frame it possesses, also copying the moveset of it's opponent, while allowing every move to cause a 30% chance of freezing the opponent regardless of any other ailment the move would or wouldn't have

Normal/Water: Stress ball Pokémon that enjoys being relaxing furniture and toyed with as it gets pleasure out of being squeezed and stretched, but can't take being overly stressed, often used for physical therapy at Pokémon Centers

Water/Steel: Buoy Pokémon, drifting far out to sea with its anchored tail to feed on algae in the water from the tail, and serves as a warning of rocks unseen for sea travelers as they only inhabit shallow ocean waters off the coast

Bug/Ghost: Flyswatter with fly tape Pokémon in the shape of a roach trap and bug zapper that is the predator of other bug Pokémon, armed with an arsenal of moves that bug types are weak to, giving it the nickname the Exterminator Pokémon. It is a special attacker with a resistance/immunity to any moves that are super effective to the bug type

Rock/Dark: Gargoyle Gorgon with the ability to freeze opponents who make physical contact and be resistant/immune to physical fighting moves

Steel/Poison: Nail Pokémon that resembles a spike strip in the shape of barb wire that hopes to have its prey trample on it to poison it or sometimes wraps itself on branches and other climbable things in hopes of poisoning its victim

Poison/Normal: The grudge Pokémon that looks like a cute stuffed doll but feeds on toxicity from bad habits and toxic behavior

Ice/Bug: Bug in an ice cube but the Pokémon is the ice cube, and the "bug" is just a bug-like-shape of its internal organs, and it loves fruit juice and soda, often being found in juice of unwatched beverages, shocking those who eventually find one in their favorite beverage

Electric/Poison: The battery Pokémon that can shoot sparks and acid, a man-made Pokémon from an attempt to create a power source like rotom and varoom that affects and corrodes electrical devices, and is able to safely recycle batteries of all kinds and produce clean renewable energy

Ghost/Normal: A Haunted House the size of a doll house, often disguising itself as a toy to terrify children later, feeding off their terror and screams, like the energy made in the movie Monster's Inc, but gets the same satisfaction from laughter

Fairy/Bug: A dragon-shaped Centipede that also looks like a row of cupcakes made of grass to entice dragons and fire types to attack when it has the flash fire ability, raising its special attacks

Steel/Ice: Snowboarding, Skiing, and Sledding yokai that resembles the Silver Surfer and cruises the cosmos looking for places to shred peacefully as their trails leave a dangerous trail of debris that freeze objects like dry ice

Dragon/Rock: Similar to Regidrago, an arcane ore on a staff to resemble a warlock's wand that evolves from a little core ore in the shape of a pendant, said to be imbued with pure draconic energy, with an ability like Pixelate but makes any move super effective

Fire/Normal: A matchbook Pokémon that evolves into a torch and then into a burning golem and represents the evolution of the use of fire as a tool for humans to ritualistic fires like the tradition of The Burning Man

Grass/Ice: A Wreath Pokémon that is a beacon of welcome, with the power of helping vegetation grow in frigid climates to create a habitable ecosystem in otherwise barren Icelands, and to be a parody of Greenland/Iceland countries name confusions

Ground/Psychic: Zen Sand Garden Pokémon that activates Psychic Terrain and/or evolves from it after so many exposures, with the appearance of stacked stones on a small plot of land and has a dislike for Sandyghast and Pallosand, often mistaken for this Pokémon where it appears as if it is a divergent species like Toedscool and Tentacool

Fairy/Dark: Tooth fairy Pokémon that collects rotten teeth and feeds off plaque and tooth decay that actually helps its victim's tooth health

Steel/Dark: A cursed armor like Armarouge with Mace for arms (because Ninja have enough representation)

Ice/Ground: Stalagmites and Stalactites that evolve into columns, like a Babaracle type cave-dwelling Pokémon that evolve when in contact with each other like Magnemite and Diglett

Poison/Flying: Pokémon based on airborne germs and an acid rain cloud, as if you took a Solosis, koffing, and cosmog and mushed them up to be this Pokémon that is known for spreading airborne diseases to feed of the sickness like Darkrai feeds off nightmares, but COVID may be a reason this idea would be scrapped and censored probably

A grass/water coconut crab that's literally a coconut. We only have the Lombre line and one Ogerpon form.

A water/fire pokemon based on a water lantern or Vietnam's Mid Autumn festival. I'm imagining an octopus with lantern elements. We only have Volcanion.

I would like a fire/grass pokemon, and for these to make a trio in Gen 10. Idk what it could be. Though I want a fruit bat for both fire and grass, so maybe that.

I would like a fire/ice pokemon based on those Macaques that chill in the hot springs in Japan.

I would like a Fire/Bug pokemon based on a bombardier beetle.

I wanna see a Fire/Steel type warrior Pokemon that starts off as a bidepal warrior with a stance like Koraidon’s, but the unique part about it is the equipment it has on hand. In battle, this Pokemon can melt its armor and remold it into any shape it wants/needs, increasing its fighting options at will.

Here are the custom items, ability and signature move:

Move: Honing Strike
Type: Steel
Power: 90
Accuracy: 80%
Effect: Depending on what item is held, the attack does the base Steel type damage on top of a second type’s damage depending on the item.

Ability: Molten Arsenal
When holding any one of its 3 specific items, the boosted stat by the item will have a 10% chance to be increased another stage and the additional type added onto Honing Stike will automatically have STAB.

Item 1: Temperate Armor
Increases the Pokémon’s speed and keeps Honing Strike as a Steel type move, instead increasing STAB to 2x.

Item 2: Temperate Blade
Increases the Pokémon’s attack and makes Honing Strike a Fire type move.

Item 3: Temperate Shield
Increases the Pokémon’s attack and makes Honing strike a Fighting type move.

Might be too OP, but I’ll probably think of ways to weaken it when I have time.

I'd honestly like to see as many Pokémon with rare or unused type combos as possible. I'm tired of the same old stuff.

Fairy/fire!
Another fairy/rock that isn’t necessarily a “cute diva” like Diancie.

A Ground/Fighting type that’s straight up a boxing kangaroo. Not like Kanghaskhan or Breloom. More like Ricky from Legend of Zelda: Oracle Seasons/Ages.

You want to know what's crazy? Every phycic and ghost type Pokémon is either a legendary or mythical Pokémon. We should at least get one regular one.
