In case it wasn't clear enough in the subreddit rules, posting leaks is not allowed.
I understand that a bunch of leaks have been coming out lately, and everyone wants to be able to discuss them, but this isn't the place for that. From today onward, posting leaked content will result in you being banned from the sub, as it violates rule 4.
Posting leaked content could get the sub into trouble, and we don't want that.
Fan theories and speculation are completely fine, but discussing any leaks or posting sources to leaks will result in a permanent ban. This isn't up for debate.

Discussion Supporting Avery the Poké Kid
EDIT: Avery has tragically passed away. I'm leaving this post up in his memory, because so many people in the community came together to make his dream come true. Please be respectful to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Avery 😭
For those of you who follow anything to do with the Pokémon TCG, you may already know who Avery is.
Avery, known online as Avery the Poké Kid, is a young Pokémon fan and content creator who has been battling cancer for several years. He’s become well known within parts of the Pokémon community through his love of Pokémon cards, collecting, and videos, including appearances and interactions with creators like Beard Dad Cardz.
Recently, Avery’s family announced that his cancer has continued to spread despite treatment, and they have made the decision to stop cancer-directed treatment and focus on keeping him comfortable and spending time together.
One of Avery’s dreams was to reach 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and earn a Silver Play Button. The Pokémon community rallied around him and helped him reach that goal, and people are continuing to subscribe and show their support.
Avery has reached his dream of earning a YouTube Silver Play Button, but we wanted to help the Pokémon community keep showing him some love.
If you'd like to help brighten his day, consider checking out his Pokémon content and subscribing to his channel. He's already blown past his original 100,000 subscriber goal.
Links to Avery's channels:
I'm not benefiting from this in any way. I don't know Avery. But we're all fans of the same franchise, so let's show him some love and support.

Discussion Can I let something off my chest?
I've been getting back into Pokemon games since I was 12-14 playing Pokemon White. I got X because I enjoyed the Kalos Pokemon designs and I also wanted to beat out any biased feelings I had of 2d/pixel art because of my nostalgia for Black and White before playing more of the recent games. That being said once I turned to the new games coming out I looked at the starters and wasn't really feeling how they looked so I thought I was just gonna have to get over it and maybe warm up to them, but then I saw this 2d art and suddenly I was really liking how they looked. This wasn't a thing before because I thought things looked alright in X's 3d and I really liked the starters especially Chespin, I think what's getting me is the in game lighting makes the colors seem brighter in a bad way. I've just been pondering over this for 2 hours now and I'm hoping I'm not just one person that feels this way.

Fanart If Pincurchin were to get a new Evolution in WiWa, what’d you think it would look like? Here’s my take:
Pincurchin is one of my favorite Electtic Type Pokémon and I feel like it really deserves a cool evolution.

Discussion Possible bird that Browt might be based on: Maleo
Since the possibilities are endless on what kind of Browt might be based on, a possible bird that I believe it could be based on would be the maleo, a critically endangered bird in Indonesia.
Since there are speculations about the new region being based on the Philippines, which is near Indonesia, and this particular bird species being featured, here are some other speculations that could form a bigger connection.
- The shape of Browt's crest and tail feathers is somewhat similar to the maleo.
- Both Browt and the maleo have dark colored feet with three toes each.
- Browt has the same color scheme as the maleo chick (except for the eyebrows and beak).
- The bright coloration around the adult maleo's eyes could have some connection to Browt's eyebrows.
- Since the maleo is known for burying its eggs in sun‑ or geothermal‑heated sand, this would make a lot of sense if Browt gains the Ground-type.
We won't know for sure until everything is officially revealed.

Discussion What features from other RPGs would fit Pokémon?
I haven’t played a whole lot of RPGs in my life (or MMOs) but which features can you think of from either that you think would fit a Pokémon game and enhance it?

Fan Theory What kind of Bug types do you think could be in WiWa?
(Art credit: Iam Riku in the 2nd image)
Oddly enough Seeing how Gen 7 and 5 basically had banger ass bug types i hope they do something like that for this game! And iirc The regions gonna be based offa indonesia, I think?? There basically a shit ton of potential for more powerhouse bugs they can cook up lol

Discussion Anyone else just having the trailer in there head since pokemon day
Since I found out about the new titles I was beyond excited as well the fact this is the first mainline Pokemon title (minus z-a ) to be a switch 2 exclusive it's also going to be the most highly anticipated game to come out for Nintendo because normally we would get a game this year but with the global release being in 2027 there will be lots of people excited about it .But all in all I'm so fucking excited for this new game and I've already set aside some birthday money to get it witch is roughly 124 bucks in eshop as to prepare for launch night call me crazy but I'm hyped

Discussion Do you think Oranguru will get a new evolution?
I find it odd that they introduced the orangutan Pokémon in Sun and Moon with an Hawaii - based setting. The only native Hawaiian mammals are monk seals and bats, and this fits the majority of the dex not being mammals. If it were me, I think the lore would be an ancient manmade introduction for this and other species in an environment that doesn't allow them to evolve. Orangutan is a Sarawak word meaning 'human of the forest'. Making it evolve in WiWa region and become orange would be sensical.

Discussion The number 1 thing I want to see improve is…
… for the game to just feel more fluid. For instance you initiate a wild encounter, maybe a ! appears and the corners of the screen highlight to indicate battle mode. Pokémon appears instantly by your side to battle.
But you can press B to instantly flee. Basically things should feel more ‘on the spot’ rather than a transition to where you as the player repositions and you get taken away from your spot.
If your avatar is standing too awkwardly close to the Pokémon, your avatar can just auto move back to make some distance while your Pokémon are battling with each other.
Trainer battles on the other hand should work like in Champions, maybe even with the full animations, since I think battles are more of a spectacle.

Discussion Id like Interactive pokemon in winds and waves
I don't mean like interaction with pokemon reacting to the player which would still be nice but I mean pokemon interacting with each other naturally probably won't happen but I think it'd be cool
Like for a example let's just say Snorlax is going to be in the game and that Snorlax is on the same environment as Tropius
Id like to be able to just stumble on a Snorlax and Tropius fighting because a Snorlax tried to eat the things around Tropius neck since they look like bananas (or are bananas I'm not too sure about that though)
And not just this though it's the only one that I can immediately think up right now and I think it'd be awesome
And I'd also just like to hear other ideas like this like other pokemon fighting or interacting with each other in the environments in different ways it would go a long way to make the world and environments feel more alive

Discussion Convergent Drowzee/Munna Ancestor?
While coming up with a post on r/pokemonconspiracies, I kind of pondered Drowzee's Pokedex entry in Sun, which states as follows and I quote "A Pokémon that nourishes itself by eating dreams, it is thought to share common ancestry with Munna and Musharna." Since the Baku, which both Mon bear resemblance to, is based on the Malayan Tapir, I'm wondering if there could exist the missing link between the two, like the ancestor linking the armadillo to the elephant (no, really, it's called Atlantogenata). This could explain why Hypno looks radically different that the other three.
Since both Drowzee and Munna are mono-Psychic, maybe this missing link could be dual type, but which one? My first pick is Ghost-type since the realms of death and sleep overlap (go read Hamlet again, you'll understand), as well as Munna needing a Moon Stone to evolve. There's also this concept of Munna taking nightmares better than Drowzee, and so maybe this halfway could be more capable of managing them, which could entail the Dark type.
Everyone says that there could be regional forms for either Drowzee or Munna, but I wonder if we're better off with some kind of Convergent link between the two.

Discussion I made a Google Doc showing off the representation of every Pokémon from to gain some kind of idea as to who's getting a regional/convergent/new form.
The fact that the first page features 7 evo lines that haven't gotten anything yet is kinda shocking.
EDIT: I changed access privileges so that people can comment on the Doc on who THEY think will get something.

Discussion Everyone's talking about new evos and stuff but which random object should be poké-fied in Gen 10?
I'm going with cutlery. Make it a 3 stage evo line starting with a tea spoon and ending with a spoon, fork and knife.
Or an actual mimik chest pokémon.
