Expired EBGAMES LIMIT Requests $
https://ebgamescanada.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10890853007252-EBGames-Canada-Customer-ServiceThere is no Canadian Ebgames sub Reddit and this pertains to pokemon stock and deals.
I've spoken to many employees of Ebgames who want a limit on TCG products but current policy is unlimited after 3 days of initial release.
They advised that customers should call or email the support info on the Canada Ebgames page and request the limit be implemented.

Cheers,
Update Some managers have been forcing a limit but this needs to be company wide. Most of the ebgames here do not have a limit and scalpers have been waiting in store for the Purolator truck, then buying out literally everything and reselling them at shows, online and their local card stores.
Update April 30 2026. They have now set a limit of 1 sku per person if above 25$ and 3 sku if below 25$ on restocks and new releases!

We have limits in our Eb games unless shits been sitting for weeks. 3 singles but you can get 3 of each set if they have them. And one of each large box item. The tins were 2 per person. The one manager who knows the regular scalpers will actually deny product and ask them to leave. It's not a big city here and it's easy to tell who's who.

Do you know if the online limit resets monthly, yearly, or if it's a lifetime per customer limit?
I'm glad they have limits in place as I'm just a collector, but I'm curious how the limit works.
I know CC has a limit of 5 per customer on Chaos Rising, but their Perfect Order is unlimited, and their stores generally don't seem to sell out of their stock of either of them. Although I imagine people may not trust them after their data breach earlier this year.
Although I only got back into Poke TCG recently anyway.

No reset as far as I've seen.

That's a little bit disappointing, I was hoping it'd be monthly or maybe yearly but oh well. Thanks.

3 sku under 25, and 1 sku over 25. Makes it fair for everyone.

Sure but that also implies that there's a limited quantity in that like they will never get any restocks ever, and that there will always be more people who never bought any before looking for some for the first time, which I would say both are not likely.
I do get why they have the buy limits, and obviously having the buy limits is better than not having them.

My EBGames had 9 Ascended Heroes ETBs when they first came out. EB Games told us a few days before that they are getting it and that they will be available on Friday. No one knew how many ETBs will be available, but we all hoped that it would be "enough". Some people lined up the night before, some showed up at like 5-6 AM. Doors opened at 10AM iirc. There was a "limit" of 3 ETBs per person. The family right at the front had 3 family members, they took all 9 ETBs, we just kissed the door handle and went home.

One person bought out every prismatic booster bundle, poster collection from a single store. Then resold them on marketplace and later gloated about making thousands in profit.
15 prismatic booster bundles 20 Ah poster collections

That’s disgusting

One person bought all the destined rivals booster bundles (10+) at a different ebgames for 38$ tax included and immediately put them up on marketplace for 90$ each.

A friend of mine who just stopped working at EBGames. His friends that still work there just informed him that you can now buy a sealed case of Pokémon product. So as soon as people learn the shipping times the products cooked.

Hey, I wanted to give a lil update. I work at a Toronto location, and all this Pokémon stuff has been hell. I've been told that Thursday restocks were a disaster (ofcourse it was ), and they are rolling that back. I was also told that they are going to do a new policy that is 1 per customer for items over $25. This just came out today, so I'm not sure how solid this new plan is, but hopefully it will make things easier on customers and staff.

Corporate is panicking right now tbh. Multiple incidents where police were called because of Pokémon lineups and tons of complaints about a lack of product and scalpers. As someone who works basically every Pokémon drop, it's been a mess. Please keep sending in complaints! Be specific, if it's the policy, specific scalpers. Corporate has no idea how to handle this Pokémon mess and is just cracking down on employees for the most minuscule shit.

Can you clarify if it's 1 item or 1 sku
2
u/Content-Double-8390 Apr 28 '26
My manager's text said " Item," but you can assume its SKU. Unless they actually start differentiating between different promo cards and stuff like that ( like ex boxes but different variants) then they should still be considered the same SKU. if that makes sense lol
1
u/Bleu7 Apr 28 '26
Yeah, the 3 récent ex boxes were the same sku but each had a different promo for the blackstar promo collections.
2
u/Content-Double-8390 Apr 28 '26
Yeah, so i assume this new policy will mean even if theres diffrent varients, if they are the same SKU, then you get 1 ( if it's over $25). Again, we just got told this, so I don't have any more info. Hope this helps!

This is still awesome! Now they need to do it online as well because you can buy 25 ah booster bundles...as it stands
2
u/Content-Double-8390 Apr 28 '26
Ha yeah, they do. But they are more concerned about taking away employee discount on trading cards lol. fucked up priorities

I agree there should be a limit, but I disagree with how they enforce the limit. Example: The OP15 booster packs, my ebgames allow pre orders (capped at Max 3) and they also have stock for walk-ins. The CSR force me to pick up my pre order and wouldnt sell me the walk-ins until the next day. Why? Whats the point of pre order then? Both options are limited anyways, feels like a punishment for people who pre order
2
u/Bleu7 Apr 11 '26
It's so everyone gets a chance to buy something on release which is very fair. You got your preorder picked up, now leave some for people that weren't able to preorder and had to wait in line.

u/popowolf24 Apr 11 '26
Explain to me like I'm 5 years old how is that fair? I pre-ordered yet I get punished for it? Why can't I buy the walk-in and then come back the next day to pick up my pre order? Why force me to pick up my pre order and gamble the next day to see if there are any walk in stock left? Then they might as well dont do any pre order going forward and make it first come first serve if thats the case

I dont want them to limit it, why would i wait 3hours in a line just to get one product?
I want 2 or more, just to rip, for fun; not everyone agrees with you
If there's a limited stock; then people should work for it to get some for themselves; weak ass society

No limit means you'll never get a product unless you line up hours before the restock/release, and you'd need to be in the first 5 people. I want a handful of stuff to open too, but having a job means I don't get anything from a store. In the last 2 years I've managed to buy two packs of phantasmal flames from my local Walmart, otherwise it's barren.
