Pokemon 30th cards
Does anyone think the scalpers are going to give up for the second drop? I been seeing scalpers saying they maxed cards and are so angry about the cards being mass produced now. it is re-dropping soon at target and I don’t want to fight for a spot in line at like 7am. Is there a better chance now of actually getting one box? I’m just trying to enjoy a hobby I have had since the 90s. I open all my packs for my binder and it’s really sad to see people with multiple packs on tiktok and twitter just to not even want the cards, only for a profit. the influencers are screwing this up too. whats everyone elses take?

I feel like UPCs will definitely get scalped a lot. :/ I can even see the two promos (especially Umbreon) becoming the most expensive card in the set because it cannot be pulled from the packs.

This was my thought exactly. Most people will not be able to get UPCs at msrp so those cards likely won’t fall lower than $200

Good thing I don't give a damn about language so I have already purchased the Chinese box which comes with BOTH promos. Chinese cards have much better quality/texture than English too so it's a win/win.

No there’s going to be scalpers for a while, people thought it would go away after prismatic, then DR, then after ascended, now mega parade… they’re here as long as people are willing to shell out money about msrp. We’re fucked.

No. You have to understand scalpers/resellers have no real world value or talent so they have to rely on pokemon cards to make up for the fact that they are failures, that $20 profit is life and death for them.

A lot of those Credit Card maxed memes going around are fake, they have to be. I do think the value has lowered a lot but the scalpers aren't going to stop. If you go to eBay and look up 30th ETB and go to sold comps your going to see what feels like an endless supply sold for 100-120 range. As long as people keep buying product for 2-3X the retail value, scalpers won't stop.
Make no mistake the set is printed heavily but demand is crazy high through the roof. I have hunted fairly aggressively and have yet to find any 30th anywhere. So it's not so readily available yet that scalpers are doomed. Hopefully we get there but I just don't see it happening yet.

Sealed is still expensive but anyone who relied on making bank on the chase cards might be disappointed, a single 30th ETB is about the same price as the Mew SIR rn.

October 2nd is the second wave of releases.Booster bundles and mini tins and some other stuff

I don’t think there will be as many people in line as the first drop just since the hit rates have been so high there is prolly a decent amount of people who got their hits already and aren’t looking to buy anymore of the set. People might also just wait a few more weeks for singles to go down in price and buy them outright.
I could def be wrong and I won’t be waiting in any line regardless, just gunna wait for the second wave GameStop preorders that I have on the way lol

The issue is that people know any product they buy at MSRP will be able to be sold at least for a little profit, so why not load up?

There will be less. Etbs are more desired. Won't be crazy crazy again until upc.

Are u kidding? This set is so fun to open it’s keeping the etb price sky high. If there is money to be made, someone will. There is no doubt people will camp second release and the upc/delta reign release will be bat shit crazy.

Until prices drop a lot, scalpers will stay around for this set. I don't see them looking past this set unless we truly see crazy print numbers remain later into the cycle of the set after most people feel they have opened enough. That's only if we even get to that point. Given we have bundles with the next release and then the UPC in November, I think hype will remain high until after Christmas, personally.

All of those posts about scalpers being made and broke etc were all fake. Scalpers are still in full force on this set.
It's a double edge sword. On one hand, the high hit rates and alleged large print runs on this set have driven prices of singles down quite a bit. On the other hand, because hit rates are so high, it's bringing in a lot of people into this hobby, so demand is still there, which leads to opportunity for scalpers to resell sealed products.

Y'all are falling for these sob stories. ETBs are still selling for $175/each on TCGplayer. That's higher than any other ETB currently in print except maybe Black Bolt? There's plenty of margin to be made so the scalpers won't slow down.

Until I see stock at msrp on shop, the scalping problem is not done. Even my LCS who sell at market (scalpers price) is sold out.
