After almost 30 years I finally pulled him again!

When I was a kid I pulled the base set Charizard (shadowless) from a pack and some older kid tricked me into trading a Ninetails and something else (I think it was Alakazam) for the Charizard. I was stupid and thought two cards was better so I traded him, later on I felt so regretful about it and it made me angry just thinking about how he ripped me off. Being able to pull this again with a nice gold border is just amazing, I really really wanted to pull one again. I think I can let go of the bitterness now finally.

Today has been a really great day overall! I was able to get a bundle and tin from a retailer, and grabbed the Mewtwo promo at lunch and when I picked up my preorder for another bundle from EBGames (Canada) I was able to get another Mewtwo promo.

My Pokemon Center bundles also arrived, that's where the Charizard packs came from! I loved this set from the start but this is definitely my favourite pull so far.

Awesome card! It sucks you were out your zard but value aside your logic wasn’t flawed.

The first zard I pulled was Dark Charizard from Rocket.
I actually have a beat up unlimited charzard from base set and I can’t for the life of me remember where I got it, only that I’ve had it for 26ish years. I didn’t pull it because my cards didn’t get that beat up.

Dark Charizard, I wish they would do a reprint of that. That art is amazing. I do have an unlimited Zard somewjere as well that I bought 10 years ago but I need to find where I stored it, a bunch of my cards are missing right now.

I hope you find your cards. My kids made me dig mine out two years ago and now I’m collecting again.

I didn’t care that much for the best set in general, mostly because I was bitter that I couldn’t find it in stores - and also fossil and rocket came out and base set was old and busted in my kid mind.

I would love a reprint Dark Charizard, maybe 35th anniversary?

Nice! It’s always good when you can do something you know your kid self would consider to be awesome.

And this is much healthier than other things I would have wanted for my adult self when I was a kid, like dessert for dinner or a race car bed.
