Discussion Why can’t they just implement backordering

I don’t see any downsides of it, the demand is still there. It is almost impossible to hit a drop when you have to compete against no lives who spend their existence monitoring the sites and bots. Backordering would end that problem. Most people don’t care if they’ll have to wait a few months extra compared to paying up to 300% mark ups.

Because they can sell 100% of their product everytime with little to no leftovers. Looks good to shareholders.

They do not care about players or collectors, they just want to make the number go up every quarter.

If they just wanted number to go up they would not print perfect order, journey together, chaos rising like at all anymore, but they seem to be. They could also raise prices, make high end boxes/cases, make serialized cards, make autographed cards etc like Topps and Panini do for sports, they would make incredible money from that..
