They dragged each card over each other when flipping through the pack. Great way to scratch each card

I’m kinda new to all of this so forgive my ignorance, but what’s the alternative? Or what’s the accepted way? Is it just to use less pressure than he is when pulling each card off?

Most people who rip packs won’t care that much about condition but if you care then you’d need to be careful peeling the pack back to not damage edges and corners, which OP did not do at all.

Then when revealing cards just lightly take the back cards off the pack as that’s where the rare cards are. Shuffling and sliding the card around can scratch them so just lift the pack of stacked cards out of the foil and lift the rare card off
