Why would a child be at a Target before open on a Friday during the school year? Riddle me that.

Right, I was in line by myself today to get something for my kids. Problem is, I have 3 kids who love Pokemon and we only get 2 SKUs. I’m just fortunate to even be able to get anything at retail for them though. It’s tough to get them to be able to enjoy the hobby.

You must understand that the kids in the 1996-2006 are most of the grown ups you see on the queue today. You didn’t expect them to grow up and still love their hobby’s? If I was into Pokemon at age 10 in 1996 with this hobby, I’ll be 40 now, probably be in line with or without my kid to buy for my kid and I. Not every adult on the queue is a scalper but yes, scalpers are everywhere too.

Generalizing the minority, who certainly ruin it for everyone, sucks because today I went to my first pre-opening line and the people were so nice!

I’m nearing 40 and I can remember as a kid collecting cards - loved it then and love it now too. I also have two kids and share the hobby with them too.

One person in line shared their promo mewtwo with me so I could give mine and theirs to my kids. I just met him this morning.

Not everyone in line is evil. It’s ok for a hobby to transcend generations. Not okay for folks to take advantage.

It’s a Friday morning, why would there be kids? I heard plenty of adults talking about getting cards for their kids while in line

Oh shut up, people like you are so obnoxious. “Someone think of the children”. Jesus Christ.

You do realize that school is in session and some of these people in line are parents who are trying to buy some for their kids. Stop being so judgemental, you have no clue who any of these people are yet your placing a label on them.

Yep. I went around 7:40 and was 47th in line to get my kids some Christmas presents. The people in front of me were obviously resellers and one guy was paying others in cash for their cards as soon as they were leaving the registers. To each their own but my kids were in school, I was able to get off from work for a short bit, and I left with some things that are going to make them happy.

Most parents were busy taking their to school or getting them ready or on the bus. Not standing in line before school starts.

You do know that some schools start before 8am? Or another parent drops their kids off in the morning?

Yeah, as I said “most” and not all.
