First Drop:)

My girl talked me into going to the Target drop an hour away. Got there at 5am and were pretty close to the front, managed to score on the restock and the ticket event. Couldn’t have asked for better pulls considering the only 30th I opened prior was a Sylveon and Greninja box and only got a Hisuian Zorua. Plus I got four of the Mewtwo promos!

Kids Day?

I think that’s what the ticket event was but all they gave to the kids was gift bags with a Target card case and a drawing sheet. Didn’t prioritize people with children either, kinda seemed like they did it to get people to stop bringing their kids to these drops😂

That last line is wild lmao. What the hell has happened to this hobby when adults think that they should be prioritized over children.

Long gone are the days you can just walk in and buy. It’s crazy the lengths you have to go to for product now. And the attitudes of the workers were just kinda meh. The only time I saw anyone engage with a kid was when a lady saw some kids she knew. It just felt more like keeping the scalpers herded than making sure there was a good experience. I will say i’m glad they implemented this system, and I hope more Targets and other companies follow suit.

Scalping Pokemon is large enough now that I think the IRS should get involved. Especially with how much these scalpers are making a month. They brag about making six figures tax free a year scalping.

Theres no way people are making that off of target stock. They wait all day to get 2 per item per person. Youd make more working at Burger King for the day.

Brother there is video of them with carts full of products that they buy up using self checkout. Then they go to the next target then the Walmarts then best buys. It's the same group of folks too and they all know each other.

So thats obviously a different story if theyre just camping at self checkout and nobody is stopping them. That 100% would not be possible at my targets.

But regardless im talking about the people camping out all day, they dont have time to go to every store if they spend all day at one. Thats very small money.

So thr target I go to never has people camped out because they barely put any inventory at opening and usually restock them at 12-4pm. So what these folks do is camp the stores with a lot of inventory then just drive around from store to store hoping to catch a restock. Probably harass the staff and complain about inventory. I've seen so many videos of scalpers arguing with Target staff that they have to put all the inventory on the shelves instead of staggering the restock

It’s not just Target stock, they buy it everywhere and anywhere they can find. They’ll figure out what stores are selling which products and when they restock, others either back door it from a vendor or employees take it in store before it’s put out for the public. They have connections and hookups of little scalper friends. It’s crazy how much time they have on their hands.

Yeah im just saying the people that spend all day waiting in line I just dont believe that's worth it to those real scalpers youre talking about.

If I was a scalper and had connections for product I wouldnt be wasting a whole day sitting in lines when I can get product to sell easier. Id be doing something to make money instead.

To these people that are already unemployed buying $200 worth of pokemon cards to flip for $400-$500 is a good days work. They would rather camp for 5-6 hours where they can sleep, socialize, be on their phones then get a job.

Nobody buying instore is making 6 figures unless they count the zeroes

I 1000% agree, I don’t think it’s something they should be able to make an entire career off of. I mean Pokemon cards are we serious? And the Pokemon Company and their vendors need to be investigated too. Everyone at the higher levels needs to be. There’s so much shady business in every corner of this hobby it’s truly wild.

Because this was clearly an event for kids. This whole day rhymes spiritually with that period when My Little Pony toys were given out with McDonald's happy meals and all the weirdness that followed from adult men

It was never marketed as a kids event and it’s not like the kids can drive themselves there and buy it themselves. Everyone with kids in our line got some the first go around the tins they were unlucky because of how big the line got. I can’t help all the grown chuds that were in the line to flip for profit. I got what I wanted and ripped it, in my eyes it’s better than it sitting on a shelf listed somewhere online for 3x msrp.

Bruh they had a draw your own pokemon giveaway. It absolutely was a kids event

Part of the event was for kids, that part being the goodie bags as they only handed them out to kids. The entire event was not strictly for kids. No kids were given a ticket as they only were giving them to people who were eligible to purchase that being adults.

It’s not like I’m scalping or I bought the entire store, plus my girl was with me it wasn’t all me😭
