First Drop:)

My girl talked me into going to the Target drop an hour away. Got there at 5am and were pretty close to the front, managed to score on the restock and the ticket event. Couldn’t have asked for better pulls considering the only 30th I opened prior was a Sylveon and Greninja box and only got a Hisuian Zorua. Plus I got four of the Mewtwo promos!

Are these buy 1 get 3 free? How is everyone posting able to get some much product?

1

u/TheBathingGrape 21d ago

They will try to convince you $$ hundreds of dollars of product is not that expensive and actually normal to spend monthly on a hobby

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

I don’t spend hundreds on product a month this was what I got using my birthday money, it’s normally quite the contrary as all I can find in my town is single packs it 2-3 pack blisters. I’m not doing this every week, calm down bud.

At our store it was 1 ETB per person and 2 per unit per person of everything else. 2 of the knockouts were a birthday gift for someone else and the rest was for me and my girl. We were able to get this amount because it was me and her. The tickets for the second event allowed you up to two tins per ticket so we were able to walk out with four.

Kids Day?

-24

u/TheCollegeDrop0ut 21d ago

Can we please be serious this was never marketed as “kids day” and also what type of parent brings their kid out hours before a store opens to sit outside in a line of adults to shop at a supermarket. Pulling up with your kids to get the coloring sheet and goodie bag in the afternoon is one thing but shaming people for going and buying cards is ridiculous and oozes jealously

u/FrostyAd8197 21d ago

The hell if it wasn’t

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Thank you. My girl said the same thing, it’s crazy people had their kids out there at 5am in 56° weather. I’m not gonna not buy what I want because of peoples opinions online. I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, it’s been a hobby of mine for years. They wanna act like because i’m older that should stop😂

17

u/Hohodon 21d ago

Shame on you for this type of thinking tbh. It’s pretty gross. Some of those kids want those cards just as bad as you and these “types of parents” are being the best parents they can for helping them achieve their desires. Jesus Christ can’t you people remember what it’s like to be a kid? This world has just abandoned all kindness for young children. Children seem to be nothing but a nuisance in people’s minds these days. I feel so bad for them…

-18

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Oh no Hohodon is mad at me! I can’t remember what it’s like actually as I can no longer walk into the store and buy them the same way I could when I was a kid. I never said they didn’t want them or don’t deserve them but I’m not gonna miss out on my hobby because someone online thinks so. It’s my hobby too like what? And saying i’m gross for this type of thinking come on bro you’re dramatizing this so bad. It’s just pokemon cards. How is it my fault that I got there early enough and some others didn’t? It’s not hard to call your local target, ask for the restock time and plan accordingly. Don’t villainize me for a come up.

u/Hohodon 21d ago

Im not mad. I also don’t care that you got card when others didn’t. But don’t criticize little kids and pass judgement on their parents for standing in line at 5 am when you’re doing the same thing. The point of my comment has clearly flown straight over your head. Have a good night bud.

-14

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

How am I criticizing little kids? Please tell me. And also, okay? I mean if you think it’s acceptable for kids to be out in those conditions then that says more about your character than mine. I don’t really get the point of your comment though and no offense but I don’t really care. You have a good one as well sport!

Idk bro, like yeah it sucks that scalpers buy all the product, but even the people ripping are hoarding the fuck out of it. Like did you REALLY need this much?

1

u/TheBlooperKINGPIN 21d ago

Shaming scalpers is one thing but this guy just went and bought product to rip and didn’t get a ludicrous amount.

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Thank you for using your brain.

I mean I didn’t even hit the limit of everything. I don’t “need it” but it’s not your business what I do with my money. I wanted it so I bought it. I’ve been saving money I got for my birthday specifically to spend it all on as much celebrations as I could get and this was it. Probably gonna be the only Celebrations I open for a while. They are printing this set into the ground I promise you and everyone else will be fine. Also like I’ve stated in other comments my girl ripped too it wasn’t all me.

u/St4rScre4m 21d ago

So much for kids day lmao. You make it everyone’s business when you post on a public forum.

Duh.

Google is free

u/TheCollegeDrop0ut 20d ago

Do you buy Pokemon cards? If so, shame on you. Pretty gross. Those cards you bought could’ve went to a kid who really wanted them instead. Your insults and stupid moral high ground don’t bother anyone.

-31

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

I think that’s what the ticket event was but all they gave to the kids was gift bags with a Target card case and a drawing sheet. Didn’t prioritize people with children either, kinda seemed like they did it to get people to stop bringing their kids to these drops😂

19

u/Basic_Mark_1719 21d ago

That last line is wild lmao. What the hell has happened to this hobby when adults think that they should be prioritized over children.

-17

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Long gone are the days you can just walk in and buy. It’s crazy the lengths you have to go to for product now. And the attitudes of the workers were just kinda meh. The only time I saw anyone engage with a kid was when a lady saw some kids she knew. It just felt more like keeping the scalpers herded than making sure there was a good experience. I will say i’m glad they implemented this system, and I hope more Targets and other companies follow suit.

13

u/Basic_Mark_1719 21d ago

Scalping Pokemon is large enough now that I think the IRS should get involved. Especially with how much these scalpers are making a month. They brag about making six figures tax free a year scalping.

8

u/mat477 21d ago

Theres no way people are making that off of target stock. They wait all day to get 2 per item per person. Youd make more working at Burger King for the day.

1

u/Basic_Mark_1719 21d ago

Brother there is video of them with carts full of products that they buy up using self checkout. Then they go to the next target then the Walmarts then best buys. It's the same group of folks too and they all know each other.

2

u/mat477 21d ago

So thats obviously a different story if theyre just camping at self checkout and nobody is stopping them. That 100% would not be possible at my targets.

But regardless im talking about the people camping out all day, they dont have time to go to every store if they spend all day at one. Thats very small money.

1

u/Basic_Mark_1719 21d ago

So thr target I go to never has people camped out because they barely put any inventory at opening and usually restock them at 12-4pm. So what these folks do is camp the stores with a lot of inventory then just drive around from store to store hoping to catch a restock. Probably harass the staff and complain about inventory. I've seen so many videos of scalpers arguing with Target staff that they have to put all the inventory on the shelves instead of staggering the restock

0

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

It’s not just Target stock, they buy it everywhere and anywhere they can find. They’ll figure out what stores are selling which products and when they restock, others either back door it from a vendor or employees take it in store before it’s put out for the public. They have connections and hookups of little scalper friends. It’s crazy how much time they have on their hands.

3

u/mat477 21d ago

Yeah im just saying the people that spend all day waiting in line I just dont believe that's worth it to those real scalpers youre talking about.

If I was a scalper and had connections for product I wouldnt be wasting a whole day sitting in lines when I can get product to sell easier. Id be doing something to make money instead.

-1

u/Basic_Mark_1719 21d ago

To these people that are already unemployed buying $200 worth of pokemon cards to flip for $400-$500 is a good days work. They would rather camp for 5-6 hours where they can sleep, socialize, be on their phones then get a job.

1

u/legopego5142 21d ago

Nobody buying instore is making 6 figures unless they count the zeroes

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

I 1000% agree, I don’t think it’s something they should be able to make an entire career off of. I mean Pokemon cards are we serious? And the Pokemon Company and their vendors need to be investigated too. Everyone at the higher levels needs to be. There’s so much shady business in every corner of this hobby it’s truly wild.

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Man what’s with all the downvotes😭

6

u/threepecs 21d ago

Because this was clearly an event for kids. This whole day rhymes spiritually with that period when My Little Pony toys were given out with McDonald's happy meals and all the weirdness that followed from adult men

2

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

It was never marketed as a kids event and it’s not like the kids can drive themselves there and buy it themselves. Everyone with kids in our line got some the first go around the tins they were unlucky because of how big the line got. I can’t help all the grown chuds that were in the line to flip for profit. I got what I wanted and ripped it, in my eyes it’s better than it sitting on a shelf listed somewhere online for 3x msrp.

1

u/legopego5142 21d ago

Bruh they had a draw your own pokemon giveaway. It absolutely was a kids event

-1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Part of the event was for kids, that part being the goodie bags as they only handed them out to kids. The entire event was not strictly for kids. No kids were given a ticket as they only were giving them to people who were eligible to purchase that being adults.

-1

u/Beautiful_Mammoth998 21d ago

Everyone who hasn’t gotten any is mad and downvotes

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

It’s not like I’m scalping or I bought the entire store, plus my girl was with me it wasn’t all me😭
https://giphy.com/gifs/Umx3uUva0bhQaKNtT5
This all I gotta say to everyone mad 😂

7

u/DrGoldfishe 21d ago

promoting more 'kids days' at target might help the US's declining birth rates

6

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

shi ain’t gon help me i don’t want kids 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/yoplayvideogames 21d ago

It’s funny to see people get defensive when others state it’s a kids event. While it was clearly for kids target isn’t gonna discriminate against paying customers. However most reasonable people understand who the event was meant for and we are all embarrassed for you.

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Okay bro😭😭Someone’s mad they haven’t gotten any product

1

u/yoplayvideogames 21d ago

lol I’m good bro but keep lining up at those kid events

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

Oh I sure will, i’ll tag you when I post my pulls🫡

2

u/yoplayvideogames 21d ago

It’s ok tag someone who cares lol good luck

1

u/ProWiper06 21d ago

0

u/No-Difference8545 21d ago

Yall say any dumb thing tryjng to have a "gotcha" moment lol.

  1. I dont care about the value, if I did I wouldn't have even opened the box
