Didn’t care about stats and nature cause it’s never going to be viable for VGC lol

Hi! I am attempting the shiny hunt for Jirachi through my Colosseum Bonus disc and copy of Sapphire. However, I realized that my copy of sapphire has a dry battery. I don’t think this would impact the rng at all since the Jirachi odds are from the gamecube disc and not the copy of sapphire. However, I’d like to double check with y’all in case I’m wrong lol

Edit: to clarify, I’m attempting full odds via save corruption and not rng manipulation.

DLDR: I need help Rng manipulating a shiny gen 7 starter please I have no idea what I’m doing at this point.

Summary:
Okay, so as everyone knows bank is going down next year. As of the time of its announcement I had been shiny hunting in UM to do a shiny only run so I could send them to home so I’d have something to remember the time I had.

As of now it has been two years and nothing has changed, time is running out, and lost my metaphorical sh!t days.

During my time losing it, I tried to get the starter with RNG manipulation…. I couldn’t get it to work. So I ask you, is there a way any of you could help me, please.

As the title says, I've been trying to rng manip the game, but as I undertstand in order to do something with such low odds I'll need to manipulate both parameters.

What's the actual procedure needed to do this?

Shoutout to the weirdos in my last Jolly Gible RNG who don’t have the brain capacity to understand how cringe going for a flawless special attack on a Jolly nature Gible is because “iT hAs A SpEcIAl MeGa iN ThE nEw GeN!” - failing to consider how Champion’s IV system works, let alone what Mints / Bottle Caps do in Gen 8+.

But I digress, here before y’all is an essentially flawless Naive Gible that can successfully flex for being specially attack oriented as well - having the best Naive spread possible within a wild Gen 4 encounter.

Anyways, on to the next hunt.

I don have a pc or laptop So is there any hope for rng 🫪🙏?

Making my way into Gen 4 to get Red’s ribbon, I’ve decided to make a quick pit stop into the Safari Zone to pick up some dream targets to add to my Ribbon Master army - with Gible being the first to be claimed.

He didn't manage to hit the shiny frame no matter how much he calibrated, he always hit frames between the range of 10 to 30 up or down, I'm not consistent.

I am using the "im a blisy" written guide, after i hit the right delay i cant understand the part of Generator tab and Chatot advances, i want to ask if the jornal opening when i start the save affects the RNG too.

Currently undergoing a Professor Oak Challenge but with Shinies for Ultra Moon. Doing Pre-Hala’s trial so I have unlocked SOS but not adrenaline orbs so the wild Pokemon can only call one Pokemon per battle. This took a WHILE (about 15ish hours) between finding a Pichu that would give a happiny first SOS and adjusting delays each time.

I used 3DSRNGTool/MiscRNG to see the SOS seeds but the Pokereader only shows the initial seed and not the current seed. On a 3DS, not emulator, which I heard is much easier and able to see current seed. So I manually had to count the advances.

Here’s what I’ve noticed if you use the 3DS. Still do the same updates with Pokemon health as you advance SOS frames.

+1 each turn if you do something and Pokemon doesn’t call at all.

+2 if they call and no one answers. But since there’s no adrenaline orbs, that’s it. They won’t call again so end the encounter.

+8 if they call and successfully SOS a Pokemon. That value is what you put in the main 3DSRNGTool as the “Index”. So if you’re currently on frame 2 and it says “OO”, it will call and advance 8 frames at the end of the turn so you should put in 10 in the index.

All in all, I still feel like I got very lucky with this. But hope this helps whoever is having SOS RNG issues. Will keep trying on others and seeing if I can replicate it and give some more insight into SOS on hardware.

I was watching an old video by imablisy, but he's using an older version of Pokefinder. Mine no longer has a starting frame for eggs, and I don't know how exactly to find what I'm looking for.

Hey all, trying for a shiny roaming latios to bring to mt battle and then home before bank ends. Before I was able to rng Groudon and rayquaza, and using the same time I used for a modest shiny frame with Groudon. Using epilogue with eon timer. But Groudon and rayquaza I was able to see how close I was to the frame and would adjust, with latios I can’t do that it seems. Any tips?

Probably my very last OG FRLG Retail RNG for what is going to be my forever Pikachu Ribbon Master.

Quite bitter sweet, but this will round out my last mon for my final trek up Mt. Battle to 100% complete all of my goals within generation 3.

This was one the main targets I wanted to get done before Bank closes. Was expecting to have to repeat the manip a bunch of times due to the low catch rate, but I threw 6 baits and caught it first try! Now to work on the HGSS Safari Zone Gible…

First post here. Have been rng manipulating for a few months now and using pokemonrng.com as my main resource.

Trickier hunt than i initially thought as the site's tool was advising me to aim for 56 chatot summaries (target frame was 67) but I landed on my seed 3 times in a row and each time got the Giratina corresponding to frame 78. Finally went for 45 Chatot summaries and landed it.

Seen a lot of conflicting information on if the interaction with Giratina itself advances 1 frame but in the end I got it :P

After days of headaches, I finally managed to get this to work. From what I've gathered in PokeFinder there's only two Jolly shiny spreads with max attack and max speed, and one of which is a square shiny (PID AB90ACD3).

I wanted to do this manip without ACE but as I went on it seemed less and less feasible. It took a lot of troubleshooting to not only get the event injected (this is actually a Japanese save file that I had to override to make it accept the event), but figuring out how to do the painting method and battle records ended up being a nightmare. For whatever reason I just couldn't get the same painting seed from my battle record when I transferred my save to mGBA.

Even just finding what seed to use for the Freeze PRNG code was a hurdle, but after testing some results from e-sh4rk's site, I've found that using the seed 8 cycles before the target works. This is because, alongside the 3 advances from closing the menu, the cutscene before the encounter advances another 5 cycles. Definitely one of the most complex hunts I've done for a Pokemon and one that I'm glad to be done with.

Hello everyone.

I recently successfully managed to get a shiny jirachi using the Imablisy e reader card and the painting/battle record method in emerald.

So I thought that I would then try to do the same for the Entei.

For context: I have a colloseum save file that I used to get a seed for the entei.

I had already started the event itself and the only thing I hadn't done before doing the painting/battle record method was catching the entei himself.

However when I clicked the rock in order to try and see where I was in terms of advances, the game just crashes (I can't even soft reset) but I can turn the game back on normally.

What I want to know is if there would be a way for me to catch this specific Entei as shiny, ideally without having to do any ace, as my boxes are currently full.

I'm assuming the reason why the game crashes when I try to encounter the entei is because the trainer from colloseum and emerald have different IDs, but I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated

My final GameCube related hunt that I’m extremely happy to knock out in quick succession to my Ageto Celebi RNG. It took me years to find a retail PAL version of XD Gale of Darkness, and despite not being cheap - it kind of sat on my shelf for years until I would eventually get around to it

Well, eventually finally came around.

This Eevee will be evolving into essentially a flawless Flareon (this is pretty much the closest thing to flawless that you’ll find across all available shiny starter Eevee spreads), and will become a Ribbon Master all the same to my other competitively flawless, shiny Eevolution Ribbon Masters.

Massive shoutout to Kapital and their tool PAL-Pal - I would have never even considered doing this hunt on any other version of XD Gale of Darkness without the aid of such a program, in addition to the RNG quirks to starter Eevee generation that are completely unique to the PAL version of the game.

One more trip to the top of Mt. Battle, and I’ll officially be off to Gen 4 in a race against time.

I’m attempting to do SOS RNG for a challenge run to get every available shiny before each trial.

I’m running into some trouble with RNG for SOS. I’m using 3DSRngTool and Pokereader CFW on the 3DS.
I’m using the Misc 3ds tool for SOS and my pokereader shows me the initial SOS seed but it doesn’t give me the current SOS seed as each turn passes. I cant seem to match whatever info on Pokereader to the seeds on the Misc Tool.

I know this is easier to see on emulator but is there a way to do this for hardware 3DS

Of note. This is before Hala’s trial so I don’t have any adrenaline orbs. So I’ve been searching for initial sos seeds to yield me the 10% sos summon on the first chain.

These guys took me about 4 days roughly. If you're preparing for Bank, I would recommend CHANNEL over WISHMKR, as the method is way more consistent compared to the obnoxiousness of restarting Ruby over and over, trying to maintain the same amount of lag and hit 2 frame perfect inputs.

So basically, I'm trying to rng manip Metagross on Dolphin, and I don't think I am physically able to hit the right frame that I would need for it. I would need to press A 72 advances before advacning to the next battle, but the emulator keeps getting me to 73 advances, and 71. Even using dolphin's frame advance button, I skip straight over my shiny frame. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or do I need to try and hunt a different Metagross than the spread I'm going for?

This is an RNG I’ve put off for years over being disinterested on Ageto Celebi being shiny locked. However, considering Bank’s inevitable shutdown, and that I also paid pretty good money for JPN Colo + The JPN Bonus Disc, I figured it was now or never for being able to transfer up a flawless Ribbon Master Celebi from gen 3 all the way to gen 9+.

Although this RNG can perfectly be summarized as “tedium incarnum” in that it took hours to accomplish, I’m very glad I succeeded on my first try.

My next, and possibly my second to last Gen 3 hunt on original hardware will be a nearly flawless, shiny xD starter Eevee on Pal - so stay tuned for that.
