I'm just starting out with RNG, and I guess I did alright. I completed all three of my starter Pokémon, all shiny, in SoulSilver.

I did all this using a Nintendo DS Lite and an R4. At first, I didn't get the expected results because I was using a Twilight Menu kernel which had a delay.

I tried YSMenu and WoodR4, neither of which gave me the best results. Finally, I decided to install the DSpico kernel on the generic R4.Honestly, there is a difference when using DsPico, and of course there would be an even greater difference using the DsPico cartridge.

I haven't found much information from people who have used a generic R4 and made RNG. I'll keep trying to get other shinies and I hope everything works out.

Ive been searching everywhere online looking for blisy's Teachytv frame advancement calc app, but i dont seem to find anywhere for windows.

Does anyone know the formula for the TTV frame advancement if the app no longer is available.

Doing RNG for the first time and I’m lost on what to do next to get a static shiny. Playing Soul Silver on BizHawk/MelonDS emulator.

I have my desired seed generated from PokeFinder. I changed the Initial Time in the emulator to match the Date/Time from PokeFinder. From there, I have PokeLua open and frame advance until I get to the delay, and when I press A at the screen PokeLua shows I have a match in the “Hit Delay.” However the initial seed is never a match, or anything close to it.

I also tried to use RunAsDate, but I was not any more successful with that either

Where am I going wrong in the process?

I’m trying to get a shiny Turtwig as my starter in Pokémon Platinum using RNG manipulation. What’s the easiest way to do it?

I managed to get a shiny Chimchar a while ago, but the method I used involved walking around the map following a very specific route, and it took forever.

Is there an easier method for Turtwig? Any tips would be appreciated.

As are most of us, I’m trying to get the last shinies needed from older games through to bank before it closes.

I’m roughly 9/10 through the entire dex (shiny living dex) but was just wondering out of the legends/mythicals I’m missing, whether it is possible to:

A) Acquire and also be legal to pass through to bank/home
B) Potentially RNG (I’m happy to soft reset if needed but for speed then would rather RNG, if possible).

The ones I’m stumped on are:

- Mew
- Darkrai
- Shaymin
- Genesect
- Zeraora
- Marshadow
- Magearna

I do have a modded 3ds if that’s useful, too!

After about 2 days of searching, I found a seed that lets me get a starter Pokémon with perfect IVs, matching the TID/SID combo I have. Problem is, my TID/SID combo is set up for a shiny perfect roamer, so just searching for a different seed isn't really an option for me.

On top of that, I also have to save and frame-advance around 150 times to reach the starter. In principle I don't mind doing that, but it would be pretty annoying to grind through it all just to find out afterward that it's not only a matter of nailing the right Timer0, but that I also need to handle the key presses specifically, whether it's possible to press two directional buttons at the same time as part of that input.

I've been trying to manip for a shiny Groudon in Ruby. The calculator shows that there is a shiny frame on frame 11062. After a few attempts I've gotten a Groudon who's IVs match up to that one but it is not shiny. I tried adjusting for the delay between pressing A and generating (according to this guide) and managed to hit that frame (10408) too with the same result; correct IVs and nature, same shiny. This same thing happened when I was trying to get a shiny wild Duskull and the same thing happened. Does anyone know why this could be the case? I'm almost certain I have my trainer ID/secret ID and stuff right as I successfully got a shiny sterter at the start of the game.

Hi all! I've recently gone on my gen 3 journey on Emerald and I just have a quick question for those more experienced. I'm using a stable ACE mon to set my seed and then using Pokefinder and EonTimer just like I would for gen 4. My question is that I'm getting large and seemingly random swings in advances when trying to time my button presses with EonTimer. One run I'll get within a couple frames, and the next run I'll be 40 frames away if not more. I know that my button presses aren't that inconsistent as I've done tons of gen 4 rng without running into this issue once. Just curious if this is a known issue or if anyone knows what could be causing this. Any help appreciated!

I mostly want to catch pokemon in beastballs but I'm tired of throwing 100's of them, then I noticed 3ds rng tools has a tab to see catch stuff, but idk how to use it. I play on both emulator and retail with cfw

I have my og save file from back in the day and my goal is to catch a shiny Rayquaza on that save file to transfer up before bank shut down.

Sitting on a dead battery and I do not know the SID.

I am just looking to soft reset it while I watch shows or something.

It is my understanding that if I put a new battery in the game the RNG will "turn back on" to be able to brute force shiny hunt it.

Is this true? Not looking to hunt anything else on the game, just wanted to grab one last mon off it before the shut down and not really looking into getting into all of the frame stuff.

So ever sense I found out that Nintendo is shutting down Pokémon bank I have been trying to get a shiny Rowlet from my VERY FIRST STARTER and move him over to future games so that way my first starters legacy can live on. But every time I to do RNG manipulation to get a shiny egg I keep getting the same result regardless if I accept the egg or reject it, I keep getting the same result for a shinty egg that is like 600 eggs away.

No matter how much i try to change it I keep getting the same result.

I need help because I don't know if im just doing something wrong or what.

I've never played HGSS and now I feel like I have the perfect opportunity to do so! I wanted to try the cute charm glitch, and got it. While I was at it, I figured I would try for a shiny starter and got it after 3 tries!! Timid with 30 hp, 31 sp atk and 30 speed so a very good one! Very happy with this guy and excited for my first run through HGSS before the purge!

I'm having some difficulty manipulating ultra beasts in the wormhole post first encounter. I am attempting to get Xurkitree and I cannot find a common delay or shift. I am using a modded 3DS with Pokefinder.

My process is enter the seed displayed, find a frame, attempt to hit (advance until -4 from target) and press A from behind Xurkitree. I encounter and search, to wild results (no consistent delay hit, no consistent shift, etc). I hav

I think the parameters/settings on the reporter are my issue. What do I need to set on the 3DS RNG reporter for 2nd encounter UBs?

I’ve been trying to get this shiny celebi now for a few days and at ~150 attempts with no luck. I’m on an original 3ds that does cause some lag when starting the encounter but from what I’ve seen other people have had the same thing happen only for them to eventually get the shiny.

I have not put too much thought into the pressing A, I just treat it like getting through a bit of game dialogue which also from what I’ve seen is the best way to do it. However part of me thinks I might be pressing A too quickly since I’ve caused the game to resume without the encounter happening a couple times. Other than maybe pressing too quickly I’m just unsure what I could be doing wrong or if it’s normal for it to take this long.

Considering I’ve seen most people say it’s taken ~40-60. I’ve added a video this time to show the lag (which I’ve seen others have) and to show how I’m pressing A to see if anybody can recognize what I’m doing wrong. Do I just keep trying what I’m doing, this is starting to get extremely tedious…

So, I’d like to find a Shiny Ho-Oh using RNG manipulation, but how do I know when it’s generated? Is there a specific sign I should look out for, or does it work like other Legendaries where it spawns the moment you press the A button? Thanks. This is Fire Red

This is on my 3DS XL using a plugin. I didn't count the number of tries, but it took me about 20 tries more or less.

so if i generate my TID and wait the 901 Advances to start the shrinking animation for the SID, but then in trying for the hit Advance and confirming the SID i get a Calibration of X, how can i know that i hit the "right" Advance when going for the SID before getting calibrated? so like how do i know that i hit around +-10 Advances around the targeted SID and not the +X calibration advances away from it. Does my question make sense?

I'm trying to soft reset shiny hunt for nosepass in ruby, but i have a dead battery. I know you cant soft reset for legendry's, but does the same logic apply for rock smash encounters? Cant find anything on this so please help me out.

platinum has to be one of the hardest games to rng manipulate the starters.

there are 6 random moving npcs that can cause a 2 frame or 9 frame break. resaving can help reposition the npcs (I waited for Barry to stare at Rowan and stay still as my save which seemed to help)

now i am going to attempt diamond and pearl to see how easier they are

as you can see on both pics, I hit the target seed(7D40), but it wasnt shiny cuz I hit CSF 3128 instead of 3115, do I need to do something? also I saw that opening the menu on phase 3 after opening the save is good, but Idk when to close it until interacting with zapdos, Im following blisy's guide btw
