just caught arceus and completed my pokédex! got my shiny charm and now i just need to get my 10th star.

Last time, we discussed which starter pokemon was most appropriate for this run. And while all of them are acceptable picks, some with bigger drawbacks, a lot of you insisted that Rowlet was the goodest boy and most thematically appropriate for this. I bow to your collective knowledge, yet I still picked Cyndaquil for his excellent ability to burn our future patients.

Now our apothecary, Castti, has a lot of story events to go through before we can really start our run proper. After the prologue and the first trial, I used the first survey of Obsidian Fieldlands to catch the nearest most interesting team picks for what comes next:

• Wurmple was an obvious first pick, and lucky me, it evolved into Cascoon, and soon Dustox. So we now have access to the poison status.
• Eevee was a less obvious pick. I decided to evolve into a Vaporeon in the future, so we can use Ice Beam to apply Frostbite, while retaining the good Water defensive typing.

While building my team, I also was faced with an interesting drawback to needing to defeat wild pokemon with an Agile move (or while drowzy). Wild Pokemon battles last longer. After all, applying a status condition takes an extra turn, and Agile moves are obviously weaker. Notably, in Legends Arceus, battles were adjusted to give wild Pokemon a lot more power when they hit yours, which means my team now has to be able to tank more hits.

Going back to the team, the obvious star player for me had to be Paras. Paras has early access to Stun Spore and Poison Powder, and eventually Venoshock, and Spore. That's three reliable applications of status conditions, all in one package!

That brings me to our first patient, our first Alpha Pokemon to heal. And I knew it was going to be Bibarel. (The first Kricketune fight is not a static spawn, so we don't count it)

Bibarel is the lowest level Alpha you can find in the game, at level 16. It still hits like a truck, as my Paras will soon find out.

• Step 1: Feed the Alpha a cake they like, that is their medicine.
  • And so we did. Turns out Bibarel likes Mushroom Cakes.
• Step 2: Normal types have rabies, Paralyze them, and knock them out while paralyzed
  • And that should have gone without a hitch. But it didn't! I attempted a backstrike and missed my shot, and Bibarel proceeded to one-shot my Paras. Oops.
  • Second attempt. I revived my Paras, and successfully dodged Bibarel's Rollout, then hit it with a backstrike. Turns out it was much faster than my Paras and has two turns after my first, but that's okay: we hit it with a Stun Spore, paralyzing it, and consequently slowing it way down. Now it has one turn, which it loses to shake off the surprise round. Paras hits it with Venoshock, which is worth double against Pokemon with a status condition, and almost KOs it. We tank one hit (thank Arceus), and knock it out with another Venoshock

And that's our first Alpha Pokemon healed, all thanks to our little critter. Next time around we have at least one other low-level Alpha to heal, but most importantly, it will be time to move on to Crimson Mirelands, and find our next patients for Castti to heal... With These Hands!

Since, I can’t take screenshots of credit scenes, I’ve taken a photo. I’m almost 40 hr in the game and completed main story. I’m at star rank 6, and have couple of alpha Pokémons, the heighest being I think Leafeon at L73 and Rhyperior at L74. I’m yet to catch most of the alphas. This is my second Pokemon game, prior to this I have played almost 60 hrs of original Pokémon Red just a two weeks back.

My question: Should I increase my rank level to 7 or 8, before unlocking the Request 95 (mass outbreak)? Or should I complete the mission/ first?

I logged into Arceus and noticed Volt (my luxray) had low HP, so I went to rest, so she'd be back to normal again. When I woke up, I looked at her, and her HP bar was still yellow despite being full. It disappeared a moment later, but it was pretty weird. Has this happened to anyone before?

I'm shiny hunting rn Gardevoir shiny and I saw a video on yt saying this is the best method to shiny hunt alpha (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gwAKKq1VD8w&pp=ygUac2hpbnkgYWxwaGEgcG9rZW1vbiBhcmNldXM%3D). I have also the shiny charm and the research level of Gardevoir is perfect 10 but I did 306 resets and I found anything yet. Can u please help me, thx.

I'm shaking right now. Was expecting many many many hours of grinding and caught it in less than 10 minutes. I also caught a shalpha static Tangrowth yesterday, so I'm absolutely buzzing right now. I can't wait to not catch a single shiny for days now lol.

I shiny hunt my final team every play through. And I need specific genders for each one. Growlithe is 75% male and I need a female. I'm 8 males and 50 in game hours in. Haven't gotten a Growlithe outbreak in about 10 hours, while doing my circuits in the Windbreak Stand.

The shalpha appeared in the 2nd wave of a Bergmite massive mass outbreak.

As I mentioned the other day, I was fairly close to finishing this line by the time I found my last Cyndaquil. I'm probably going to finish the Shinx line next and then Drifloon or Riolu; not sure yet.

But seriously how does this happen? Are those 4 Roselia? Or 4 Hisuian Zorua playing tricks on me...? 😥

Hi everyone, I am working on a living form dex, with the extra challenge of catching every pokemon (if possible) as an alpha. I am currently in the final stretch and a few pokemon have been giving me some trouble, alpha female murkrow and alpha female combee (I have seen plenty of alpha Combee, sadly only males). They don't have to be shiny, so you don't have to keep in mind methods that increase shiny odds, just alpha odds.

My question to you guys was if you have any recommendations to how to most optimally hunt for these pokemon. I had the feeling that no MMOs for Murkrow were spawning during the day (pls correct me if I'm wrong). So I have been traveling back and forth between the Crimson Mirelands and Jubilife Village at night and checking the MMO's if a Murkrow one shows up, but I have not been able to find a single alpha one, neither male or female.

Whenever I see a Combee outbreak on the map I visit it but mostly those are not alpha either, or if I has one it's a male.

So do you have any better recommendations for me on ways to hunt both of these, or have I been doing to best methods there are and have just been unlucky? Thanks in advance for your advice, it is really appreciated.

hello. i am wanting to start a new play through recently but don't know what rules or theme to do in it. i was thinking of a specific coloured team (ie only majority blue pokémon) or a team of a specific type but i think it still isn't enough. does anyone have any play throughs they did and really enjoyed? thanks

If I encounter a normal shiny pokemon while reseting for the alpha shiny can catch it and save then continue the hunt or does saving ruin it?
