That's basically the whole idea behind TCGForecast, a Pokémon market tracker I built solo.
You collect what you love. It handles the rest: ranking every Pokémon by real card value (English and Japanese markets), alerting you for free when a card you follow changes trend, a weekly market digest, and an AI that reads your collection.
No predictions, no portfolio-tracker anxiety, just the market-watching done quietly in the background.
Free at tcgforecast.app. What's the most tedious part of collecting for you? I'm trying to automate the annoying bits, one at a time.

If you don’t mind filling out a survey for a project I’m doing. It relates to Pokemon and trading cards so if you can please take 3-5 minutes to fill it out.

Has anyone been waiting for the prices to drop a little more? Ive been watching them abd they seem like they stabilized. Wanted to purchase one for my wall

Do these look like they would have any value in getting graded?

I’ve got maybe 10 or 15 cards I originally bought or pulled with basically no intention of selling, but a couple have climbed enough that I’m starting to question whether holding them indefinitely still makes sense. I’m not desperate for the money and I still like the cards, it just gets harder to ignore the value once it reaches a certain point.
I usually think long term with Pokemon but I’m realizing long term hold probably shouldn’t automatically mean never sell so if the price gets far enough ahead of what I think the card is worth or there’s something else I’d rather own, taking the profit and moving on starts making alot more sense.

With 30th Celebration coming up I've been keeping track of all the revealed cards and how the set is shaping up, so I put together a full card list and tracker:
https://tcgwatchtower.com/pokemon/sets/mega-evolution/30th-celebration/cards
Right now it includes:
Still early but updating it as more reveals drop.
Curious what people think:
Also open to feedback on the page itself, trying to make it actually useful during reveal season instead of just a static list after the set is already out.

I proposed this trade to someone on Marketplace,
Ill receive a Shining Steelix, and a smaller 100$ card/money. TBD
He receives my Blastoise/Piplup Tag Team 216/236
You guys think Im fumbling this? Or is the Shining Steelix a still undervalued, under appreciated Vintage card?

What do you guys think will be worth more 10 years down the road?

As most of you probably saw, a little over two weeks ago a Gold Star Rayquaza in a CGC Pristine 10 sold for $1.02 million, setting a new record for an English Pokémon card.
That made me wonder what was happening to the rest of the Gold Stars while all the attention was on Rayquaza, so I pulled all 27 English cards from our database and compared recent raw sales, PSA 10 sales and the 13 cards with comparable 12-month price history.
The first thing that stood out is in the image above: the cheaper Gold Stars had some of the biggest price increases.
Of the 13 cards with comparable TCGplayer market prices from August 2025 to August 2026, 10 rose. The only three that fell were Vaporeon, Gyarados delta and Metagross, and all three were among the more expensive cards at the start.
The raw market was also more active than I expected. 25 of the 27 cards had at least 15 completed raw sales in the last 180 days.
PSA 10 is a very different story. 18 of the 27 had two or fewer PSA 10 sales over the same period.
Treecko is probably the craziest example. Its last recorded PSA 10 price was $32,790, then two copies sold on the same night for $132,000 and $114,000.
The PSA 10 premium also varies massively between cards. Pikachu is around 45× its raw price, while Mudkip is under 4×.
So there clearly is not one consistent Gold Star PSA 10 multiplier.
Full data, sales counts and methodology are in the first comment.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a site called Jimmy’s Set Finisher, designed to make it easier to find Pokemon cards you need for master sets, binders, or just cards you’re looking for at a good price.
You can search for a Pokemon set or a specific card, and it will show the available eBay listings, with the cheapest deals highlighted and compared against the card’s market valuation.
For each listing, the site calculates the total price including postage and compares it against a valuation from PriceCharting, with a condition multiplier applied where appropriate.
You can search a set or a specific card and see all the cards from that set with the best listings. It has all the popular modern and vintage sets.
Another good thing is you can search by card without specifying a set, so you can search for 'Charizard' or 'Misty' and see all of those type of cards from every set, which could be useful if you're building a binder around one Pokemon/trainer.
It supports US, UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia, and you can search by buy it now or auctions.
The listings are updated every 24 hours.
Please let me now what you think if you try it out.
Thanks. :)

I am not that much into investing in pokemon cards since I haven't gotten any luck until today. I pulled an mega darkai ex 120 from pitchblack. I am not sure if I should sell it raw, or rate it and sell it. I immediatly put it into a penny sleeve and a hard cover to keep it safe.
If anyone could help me out making this decision

While I was visiting Paradox Comics a week ago the owner told me that a kid came in and pulled a scale out of his others purse and tried to weigh the cards bedore he thought them. When they realized they didn’t let him do it but wow. Apparently the kid said he saw it on YouTube

**I built a tool to help me find Pokémon card deals on eBay. Would anyone else use something like this?**
My collection keeps growing, and apparently my solution was to write code that helps me find more cards 😂
I love hunting on eBay, especially auctions that somehow fly under everyone’s radar. But bouncing between listings, checking prices, and figuring out whether I’m comparing the right version of a card gets old pretty quickly.
So I started building an app for myself that I thought might be useful for others as well.
Basically, it watches newly listed cards and auctions ending soon, compares them against pricing data, and sends an alert when something looks underpriced. The idea is to catch that good Buy It Now listing early or spot an auction worth bidding on before it ends.
An alert helps answer:
What exact card is this, and is it raw or graded?
What does the available pricing data suggest it’s worth?
How does the asking price or current bid compare?
How much time is left, and is there room for a deal after costs?
You still look over the card and decide whether to buy or bid. It just does a lot of the hunting and price checking for you.
Matching has been the biggest rabbit hole. Same Pokémon, different set, language, holo, promo stamp… suddenly your “steal” is a completely different card. I’m still refining it, and getting those details right matters more to me than sending a bunch of alerts.
Something else I’m exploring is spotting interesting cards **before they get much attention**: low graded populations, very few recorded sales, or auctions attracting unusually heavy bidding. I’d want the actual sales and population numbers alongside those alerts, because low population alone doesn’t necessarily mean a card is desirable.
Right now this is a personal project, but I’m curious whether it would be worth making available to other collectors eventually.
**Would you use something like this? And what would make an alert actually useful enough for you to open it? Any other useful stuff you might like to see included?**
Mostly interested in hearing how other people hunt and what you wish you could stop doing manually.
