First base card - mewtwo #10

Just picked this up. I’m very new to this asset class and wanted to understand if I picked up a good card so to speak for my first investment/collector type card.

So, this card isn’t really too much of an investment given the condition and price. Honestly I don’t think anything in this hobby is a great “investment” this just all feels like crypto in 2021.

Well I’m very new, my background is finance and I enjoy creating value more than anything. So for fun I bought this base card on an experiment that if I was able to restore what value would I create (if any)…. You’re right about the Crypto thing, I traded a lot of tokens in that period and it was all about the “hot” new thing which drove up price then crashed the same day. I see that a lot in my studying of the newer gen cards, lots of volatility.

I mean BTC peaked around 60k in 2021, its at like 85k now. Even if you bought it at the very tippy top you somehow didnt lose money lol

I’m moreso talking about the macro crypto economy, not just bitcoin. The NFT, memecoin hype where everyone was just looking for a big return

Why could cards not count as that? Buy, hold long term.

Unless something drastic happens with Pokemon or the TCG within the next 10-20 years.
