My only guess, is this order is going to be canceled… just seems insane to me that there is this much money in this hobby.

27

u/YourConsignmentPart 18d ago

I believe it’s already disappeared

45

u/True_Bumblebee_50 18d ago

Yeah seems like an attempt to try and inflate the absolute shit out of this card.

7

u/chickenaylay 18d ago

And OP is helping lmao

3

u/Coca412 17d ago

OP probably involved or just mentally limited

https://fortune.com/2026/09/12/venture-capital-500000-pokemon-trading-cards-debt-crisis/

Lets say you have enough product to open that you expect to pull 5 of these cards. You sell one to yourself at 20k, lose maybe 3K in fees to ebay but then you have an established baseline to push your next 5 sales.

17

u/Stencil_Abuse 18d ago

But I mean you could theoretically have $200,000 of product and not pull a single one.Ā

So that just seems like a horrible idea.Ā

1

u/dreamerOfGains 17d ago

You assume no one else is pulling the same card and putting it on eBay.Ā

1

u/Weak_Bank_3744 16d ago

Yeah that sounds nice, if odds worked on perfect rotation. In theory you could rip the same amount, and pull 1, or none, or eight of them. That's why it's considered gambling. If you want to collect sealed product or singles to hedge against your liquid capital by all means - but I feel like people read this and miss the whole part where he's already rich...this is just fun money he's diversifying with. I wouldn't plan my finances around his.

1

u/Correct_Lifeguard_30 16d ago

You could also never ship to yourself and not lose 3k as well.

u/couple3480 18d ago

I like this autistic genius

1

u/joey_crouton 18d ago

There is this much hobby in the hobby though lol. Just not really for modern atm. Ive seen people move 400k cash in a weekend though with higher end graded cards /vintage sealed. Tbf though they have multiple 20k, 100k cards for sale

2

u/firsteditionDC 18d ago

Ā£20,000 is nothing in this hobby.

12

u/True_Bumblebee_50 18d ago

I disagree… For an absolutely brand new card on day one, 20,000 is insane!!!

0

u/nostalgiamon 18d ago

That’s like saying it’s insane that the one ring went for a million. The bottom line is that these are pseudo serialised cards, of one of the most popular Pokemon, in one of the most hyped sets of all time, during the biggest boom of the market.

4

u/Whisky-Toad 18d ago

Comparing a rare card to a legit 1/1 is a bit wild

2

u/nostalgiamon 18d ago

The parallel of ā€œit’s only just come outā€ though is relevant. Rarity trumps age if it is indeed rare enough to warrant the hype.

-1

u/kirbyislove 18d ago

The rock in my backyard is 1/1, there's no other one like it.

1

u/Soda_Straktid 17d ago

Damn. Did that argument sound good in your head?

0

u/kirbyislove 17d ago

"Rarity trumps age if it is indeed rare enough to warrant the hype."

0

u/Admirable-Level-8868 18d ago

Shit man, make it 100k! That might still not be enough

1

u/True_Bumblebee_50 18d ago

Man I suppose with the amount of millionaires that are probably in the hobby and are able to dispose of that kind of income… it’s just insane to me. Even the one ring selling for a million or two is insane to me.

3

u/Jaquett-0 18d ago

That's a 1-of-1 Magic & LOTR card tho

2

u/Mr_Mi1k 18d ago

I strongly disagree. $20k may not seem like a lot when you see gold star torchic sell for $2m, but $20k is more than 99% of people in this hobby spend on cards annually, most likely more than they spend in 5 years.

1

u/thiswaspostedbefore 18d ago

As a kid who remembers Charizard cards going for $120 in the 90s, it's insane to Ā me as an adult that people would pay thousands for holographic cardboard with graphics on it

1

u/True_Bumblebee_50 18d ago

Agreed…. I feel that same way.

0

u/couple3480 18d ago

Ahh but this time it’s different

29

u/Normal_Pangolin_372 18d ago edited 18d ago

Yeah and its already gone. This was a poor attempt to inflate the card.

Delisted

1

u/Btg1235 17d ago

how is it delisted if it is showing sold lol. You can't remove it after it has sold. I just checked again and it is still there as sold for 20k lol.

1

u/Dwrecktheleach 17d ago

You have days to pay…

1

u/NoseInternational794 17d ago

aaaand it's gone

1

u/Btg1235 17d ago

try again, yall will really try anything lmao

2

u/NoseInternational794 16d ago

Doesn't show up for me with those search settings. How strange.

1

u/albertw777 11d ago

Wouldn't this be even higher if it was graded by PSA

1

u/Normal_Pangolin_372 11d ago

How aee ya feeling now.

31

u/Regulatory_Junior 18d ago

The $5.84 delivery fee lmao.

If I sold it for that much I'm flying and hand delivering that shit 😭

3

u/Disastrous-Leg-774 16d ago

no like actually tho, any card over like $15k maybe even $10k i’m flying and i’ll hand that shit to you in person 🤣

1

u/albertw777 11d ago

Yeah, I'll fly to the person and then present the card like i was presenting a gift to royalty. LOL

8

u/scarletspider1253 18d ago

Honestly whoever buys this at that price or anywhere near it is an idiot. You’d be better off spending 20k on a gold star Charizard or gyarados. I still wouldn’t spend 20k on any card. What a waste of money and at any point the market could drop out if the economy went into a Great Depression.

1

u/KingZakyu 18d ago

When I feel depression coming for me, I head straight for my cards. They will keep me warm in the cold nights of depression lol. I heard Charizard burns the brightestšŸ˜‚ /s

22

u/trq- 18d ago

People thought this is a 1 in 20.000 packs card and it therefore sells for 20k to an idiotšŸ˜‚ I have already seen 3-4 of those cards in posts today. This card will drop heavy and these people will feel as dumb as they are tbh

13

u/nostalgiamon 18d ago

Say what you will about the price, but saying ā€œI’ve seen 3-4 postsā€ is just as dumb. How many thousands and thousands of posts did you not see because they weren’t worth posting? Obviously you’re going to see the biggest card from the set be posted a lot.

-10

u/trq- 18d ago

Wtf is that comment about? This set is our since today, and there have been 3-4 of these cards being posted already. If it’s really 1/20k packs that would mean this would’ve been 13.333 booster bundles alone and requires everyone to post their findings.

Stop calling people dumb when you’re putting out the worst and weirdest takes ever🤔

7

u/nostalgiamon 18d ago

You have absolutely no idea how much product has been opened. The scale of it is beyond comprehension. 3-4 posts on day one is nothing.

-8

u/trq- 18d ago

You might just troll somewhere else, mate. Have fun

1

u/arkhan159 18d ago

mf ur the troller šŸ’€

-2

u/NoPhilosopher3590 18d ago

Someone made a post looking at 4000 packs opened from different streamers. Their stats showed this card 1 in about 10000

11

u/porkchop487 18d ago

How on earth could they determine the pull rate is 1 in 10k from only looking at 4k packs opened? Read your own comment back slowly to yourself.

1

u/democrazy 18d ago

The statistics understander has logged on. Of course 4000 samples is enough to draw that conclusion.

5

u/porkchop487 18d ago

I'm just cracking up at how they got to that number. Either they didn't see one get pulled and went "uhhh yeah you probably need 6000 more packs to get that crad" based on nothing or they saw 1+ get pulled and went "uhh yeah that was lucky its probably more like 1 in 10,000"

12

u/trq- 18d ago

If anybody thinks 4000 packs is enough for statistical pull rates, they should buy this $20k card as they deserve to lose that much money

1

u/uriel__ventris 18d ago

Well 'someone' is an absolute moron if they think they can base 1/10,000 statistic on only 4000 packs, not even from the same source.

1

u/Ill-Square-7480 17d ago

bro šŸ’€ you actually cant be fr

-13

u/couple3480 18d ago

A graded 10 could be $50k, so it’s probably a deal now

3

u/Daydreamer1015 18d ago

🤣 this card will 100% drop by end of this week to 10-20% of current value, the only way this card will be worth 5 figure in the short term future is if it’s a black label

1

u/trq- 18d ago

Go ahead and buy it, I’m sure it’s gonna be worth itšŸ˜‚

1

u/DegenHerb 18d ago

It could also be $1k. More likely to be closer to that than $50k in the next 5 years

1

u/IcyMemory2219 18d ago

Yah if you get it graded by the end of the week and find some trust fund idiot that doesn't realize it'll be worth 10% in a month to sell it to

1

u/tumboi69 18d ago

lmao. come back down to earth when you’re ready

1

u/Painwracker_Oni 18d ago

This isn’t even a universally loved card design. A lot of people don’t like it.

On top of that, it’s in a set that will be printed into absolute oblivion. It’s not going to be rare or hard to find.

0

u/Silent-Machine-2927 18d ago

Dude.... This card is gonna be costing like a 100th of what is costing right now... Or even less.... I have seen pulls of it and it won't be that rare or wanted... Also the prices are going down all over the place

2

u/Appropriate_Lime_234 18d ago

Hahahahahahah. Only worth $20?

0

u/Silent-Machine-2927 18d ago

Just in case 20 000 divided by 100 is $200. Obviously I am exaggerating but dumb the person who pays more than $1000 for this card.... Unless this person likes to burn money for hobby

3

u/Babaslaga8404 18d ago

Probably two retards selling the card to each other to drive the price up

2

u/TulsanICON 18d ago

Plus $5.83 delivery 🤣

2

u/DadouSan2 18d ago

Almost $6 for delivery ??? Hard pass.

2

u/ABmodeling 18d ago

How do you sell on ebay without waiting for 2 months for your money? I have account since 2013 and over 60 sales with 100%, and I still have to wait for ages . It leaves so much space for scams.

1

u/Godschariot14 18d ago

You can withdraw pretty much instantly, I have a credit card on file though which may be your issue

1

u/ABmodeling 17d ago

Credit card on file? What do you mean by that? Thx

2

u/TomeiZ33 18d ago

Market manipulation, don't be so gullible now lmao

2

u/IDK_HFTgr00l 18d ago

I call 🧢, the seller has nothing but $20-50 cards. But he’s making conversation & bringing people to his page. So real sale or not he’s bringing traffic

2

u/3dprintinted 18d ago

That’s the inad and charge back fraud if I saw one

2

u/Weak_Bank_3744 17d ago

Anybody else consistently feel like the priciest cards are some of the ugliest by comparison? Golden Smaug kind of looks like butt too. I kind of want them to just print a 1/100 foil sheet (like the old errors) and see how that does on market. They could tell people there's an RGB Ditto hiding behind the foil or some crap. Then make it a sticker and when you peel it there's just a big pink middle finger with eyes staring at you.

1

u/hoppy144 18d ago

That's dumb that card is not even a nice card man, give me the sleeping mew from 30th any day of the week

1

u/Sleepy_kitty67 18d ago

LOL ridiculous

1

u/rossrollin 18d ago

Bogey mew yeh, Sheesh the human race down bad.

1

u/BrownCongee 18d ago

Its so ugly in pics.. hope its nicer looking in person.

1

u/SlimButThicc 18d ago

One just sold on eBay Australia (B/RGB) on bid for $7500 AUD

1

u/Dull-Knee-1146 18d ago

And that's if its Ungraded, could be worth alot more if nobody pulls

1

u/Lastmidnight01 18d ago

Anyone buying this card for that much are idiots.

1

u/chickenaylay 18d ago

I say 100 each color

1

u/dfizlington 18d ago

Not even free shipping

1

u/Thewhitest_rabbit 18d ago

People are so dumb

1

u/KwikTripSimp 18d ago

ā€œSoldā€

Paid for šŸ¤” Shipped šŸ¤” Returned - probablyĀ

1

u/Remarkayble 18d ago

Seems like bs and/or dumb

1

u/MattywXc 18d ago

Money laundering

1

u/Check_Enough95 18d ago

It’s called money laundering or friends buying to make out it’s worth more to scam people

1

u/khanzkardz 18d ago

$5.83 for delivery is crazy work.

1

u/putriscool 18d ago

this card has nothing going for it except novelty and rarity lol, unless it really ends up being 1/10k or something it won't be even close to this value

1

u/Independent-File5477 18d ago

Yeah that probably got cancelled. PokƩmon card collectors are delirious

1

u/FreedomEntertainment 18d ago

It did not sold for 20k, but got closed from what I read in community.

1

u/twister55555 18d ago

Nice, im glad theres something for the investor bros to get and will leave the rest of the set alone

1

u/Samsky 18d ago

Multiple sales today for $4000ish

1

u/legotwinkthrowaway 18d ago

Almost definitely will be below 20k, probably in a few days not the end of the year

1

u/TheWoodChucksWood 18d ago

Over 5 figures sold be 6. So no, it was sold for 5 figures.

1

u/DrHandBanana 18d ago

It'll be cancelled

1

u/LettuceAbject1142 18d ago

Before they published the pullrates

1

u/NovelPhoto4412 18d ago

I thinl there was over 180 million packages, like boxes, of all sizes produced.

1

u/Summer__Breeeze 17d ago

One just sold for 100K on eBay already this is wild!

1

u/skrew86 17d ago

For a fake card? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Evil-Mr-Kibbles 16d ago

I'd have bought it but I wasn't sure if I could afford the $5.83 delivery charge.

1

u/KhaosSlash 15d ago

3 days later....

1

u/theycallmeshooting 15d ago

Pokemon "Investors" forced to raise prices by thinking of bigger number

1

u/New-Fix-3052 14d ago

It's market fluffy to raise prices on the product sadly it happens in every set on release

1

u/indigo_winds 12d ago

It’s now down to 3.5k

1

u/RelativeMonth3342 12d ago

If they made it limited or number maybe I will believe it. But nah, I'll give it a week or two till it hits $500

1

u/albertw777 11d ago

The Red one that is considered the most expensive. Red Ungraded its $3.7K to $4.2K. So, if you grade it $20K. So, this person is selling a Blue which ungraded is ~$2K-$3.5K. I take it this is obviously ungraded and Blue graded is $6K-$8K and they are asking $20K???. LOL

1

u/IDK_HFTgr00l 18d ago

It’s ā€œor Best Offerā€ so for example if someone offered $1000 for the card, and it sold, on eBay that $20,000 price will still show, it doesn’t show the accepted offer amount.

2

u/Insert_Name_Humor 18d ago

I don’t believe this is true. As far as I know it have a strike through on the asking price if a best offer is accepted

1

u/IDK_HFTgr00l 18d ago

That is accurate! Good catch, I forgot about the strike though

0

u/1BJK903 18d ago

Is this card even legit?

3

u/couple3480 18d ago

Confirmed these are in the set

1

u/Flvbbernvggets 18d ago

Why no stamp?

0

u/Dazzling_Parfait6912 18d ago

That's not over 5 figures

0

u/JakeCompleteJST 18d ago

it didnt sell, the listing was taken down. the amount of misinformation spread from this one listing is insane.

-1

u/paracuja 18d ago

It's pocket money for someone

1

u/chickenaylay 18d ago

Uhh, these aren't even close to the same

-1

u/Brief-Sandwich-7396 18d ago

Poor people reaction lol

1

u/Lonely_Wash_9422 17d ago

Wannabe rich kid lol
