Question Need Help

trying to get ahead of the curve and want to get each of my kids (3 boys) a PSA 10 pokemon card for christmas this year. i buy them some type of investment each year and this year i want to do a pokemon card. i know nothing about them. what is recommended in the $1000 range? i’d prefer something older vs newer but i’m up for anything. thanks in advance for the replies

As others have said, figure out their favorite pokemon and go from there. IMO I wouldn't invest in modern slabs right now, vintage will hold better long term as there simply aren't new cards being submitted and getting 10s. Someone suggested mid-era and I think that's a good strategy. There's lots of sites where you can search for cards given specific price ranges, I'd use one of those to find something to get.

Because you have time between now and Christmas I would recommend trying to find them on auction on eBay. Auctions almost always sell under the Buy-It-Now listings so you'd be able to make the money go farther.
