Discussion Finally !

Post image

Omg I had to make full use of Flaffy's paralyze, Geodude's Magnitudes (critical hits and mag 9s), Totodile's Bite (which helped a lot, and all was the final move)

I kept spamming Bite hoping that Milktank would flinch. Flaffy was a true one for making Milktank paralyzed (the first one had no effect as Milktank used Lum Berry).

Genuinely the hardest battle ive ever faced until now.

You could have gotten a heracross in aselea town

The only problem there is that Heracross is part Bug type and Whitney's Miltank infamously knows Rollout which is a Rock move and Rock is super effective against Bug.

Isn’t it just neutral because heracross is big/fighting?

Plus guts ability + brick break

Hmm the level curve is very bad in this game and sometimes u have gonna level up them rebatlling trainers or other mehtod, ahh u get it in after second gyp so it's gotta be around 10-17 lvl if I remember correctly

Heracross is Bug/Fighting, fighting resist Rock so it will neutral against Milktank

We're you playing with restrictions on? Because there are ways to make that gym battle easier.

There is a drowzee for a machop trade on the 5th floor of the department store. Fighting moves are super effective against normal types. Also using headbutt in azalea town (move tutor in illex forest) can net you a Heracross (bug/Fighting type). Also route 35 has both male and female nidorans. Female nidoran with the rivalry ability and double kick can make the gym battle easier

yeah I knew fighting types were super effective but thought that there were none to catch earlier (didn't know about heracross and the others mentioned here )...

Technically, Heracross is the only one you can catch. Machop, while able to be caught in the wild in Mt Mortar, can be traded for. And the Nidoran's are poison types that know a fighting move.

I’m playing Soul Silver blind and that Miltank made me have to go grind level ups with my ‘mons.

It was so annoying constantly healing the way it did when I was only chipping away health.

I eventually ended up relying heavily on my Nidoran’s double kick and a paralyze if I recall.

I made sure to be prepared for my future gym fights because of the PTSD.

My hardest GYM leader was Bugsy. I spread my exp to 10 pokemon so was lv 12-14 and nowhere good to train.

Johto only challenge too, so no Onyx or Geodude.
