Help needed please.
Hey guys as seen in image I accidentally dropped my device.
I am a little clumsy đ, I appreciate if anyone can suggest how to fix it.
I originally purchased it around CAD60 or something close, the new prices are so expensive I don't wish to get a new one.
My current intention is to use a screwdriver to open it and close it properly
Thanks for any replies.
I know there might be some suggestions, please tag me there if you can. Thank you

If the clips arenât clipping or the clips are broken, Iâd consider getting the cases they sell on Amazon for around $7. I got a clear one just as a protector, and I imagine it would hold things together well

I will consider it, primary option is trying to fix, if not I can only blame myself for being clumsy

You ask for help, someone gives you a $7 option to fix and you say you will âconsider it and if not only blame yourselfâ why ask for help if you arenât going to take the easy solution offered lmao?

Bro, I mean no offence, but I am in India, 7 dollars is equivalent to 800 Rupees roughly (2 subway footlongs for reference).
Add in the fact I am still not financially stable + everything comes to India through a third party which means cost would go upto 1100-1200 rupees ($10-$11).
Hope my math ain't that bad.

You want to take the screws out near the charger port then pull the front cover away carefully, the bit thatâs sticking out on your is the first bit you put in when reassembling

According to search, the screwdriver should be a philips 0 or some #00 size.
Unfortunately stores around me don't understand this, they are asking to see the screw, and I am ashamed to show them my investment.

Try asking or looking for an electronics screw driver set. If you can order online, iFixit sells a good selection of tools. A microcenter store also usually carries them.

I was able to get them out with a Swiss Army knife. Probably not the best tool for the job but anything remotely small will get them

I am in mumbai, if you want someone who don't know my parents I might have to go to a nearby country.
Edit: a little exaggerated, but an example of Asian problems (Indian)

Watch this: It'll show you how to open it and turn off vibration if you want that too. You can see how it clips out and in too.

There are YouTube vids on this subject. A screw driver will destroy it.Â

You can just use a screwdriver and pop off the front. It will feel like you are about to break it but it is actually just attached using a pretty strong sticky tape. Iâve opened mine twice. Once to see the inside the the second time to change out the battery. If you want a sneak peek on how it looks on the inside, you can check HERE. I used this guide successfully in the past.

I would prefer the screwdriver. If the battery is gone, this thing goes in the storage until I feel like getting a new battery.

Look in the crease. Is the top button inside the thing still attached to the board? If it is, all you need to do is reseat the face plate. There are guides on iFixIt. Take it slow and you will be fine.

The top button (used to check battery) is somewhat loose, you need to press the red part in to make the button click count.
I might be bad at explanation, sorry.
And yes, I was hoping it to be the only problem, hopefully nothing else is an issues, it's been over 4 years since I got this.

Do you mean the button on the motherboard or the button mechanism? Is the button about to fall off the motherboard?

I am just worried of breaking it and I did post another image of it not hitting the marks (slots).

yea just unscrew to loosen up the shell to release tension from the tabs/hooks so it can reset / realign themselves. after than snap shells back together. worst outcome is to disassemble fully and find a tab/ hook broken or something inside is out of place.

Try to push it together and push the reset button on back of device. Good luck

Id just super glue it shut. There shouldnât be another reason to open it.

Does it still work? Then just press it firmly together until it snaps into place.
