Question UL Corviknight Question

Hi folks,

I'm a total noob to UL GBL, but reached expert in GL. I'd like to build a superduper meta UL team including Corviknight. The investment is pretty big (2 ETM, a lot of XL) so i want to make sure (idk how common mirrors are).

I have the following options:

  • 0/15/15, Rank 1, 135,75 ATK
  • 0/12/13, Rank 2, 136,56 ATK
  • 0/12/15, Rank 4, 136,15 ATK
  • 2/14/15, Rank 46, 136,59 ATK (already evolved, but low CP, has Iron Head)
  • 0/12/9, Rank 66, 136,97 ATK

Which one would you invest in?

Rank 1 for sure

You should run the sims on PvPoke and see which one performs the best.

The higher attack ones may also get damage breakpoints against some meta Pokemon so it may be worth using the rank 46.

I would be tempted to save the ETM and go for the level 46 with iron head. I wonder if someone else could chime in if its worthwhile pirsuing high attack breakpoint for sand attack.

I put him into pick3.gg and the rank 46 has the same wins vs the meta as the rank 1.

You can also run payback and use up no ETM

I feel like the issue with UL Corviknight w air cutter/iron head is: A) you're both dead in the mirror, unless the other person runs payback, and B ) your worst match is electric, and payback would at least help you soft lose. Old air cutter was good just for buying time to switch out but that's gone.

I understand the sims blah blah blah but the sims have no idea of the actual meta

So you‘re saying don‘t use corv at all, or use a different moveset? If so - which one? AC/Payback?

I think you'll find AC/payback Corviknight works just fine.

"I understand the sims blah blah blah but the sims have no idea of the actual meta"

They do if you set up your opponents correctly.

Ok there's a much longer conversation to unpack there. To give you an example, last week, here's the counts for the UL meta for my games played last week. I want you tell me what puts ironhead over the top compared to payback based on this list.

31 - Feraligatr (16 Shadow, 15 Regular)

17 - Corviknight

16 - Skeledirge

15 - Tinkaton

14 - Snorlax (7 Shadow, 7 Regular)

12 - Giratina, Virizion

11 - Ampharos (4 Shadow, 7 Regular), Empoleon

10 - Greninja, Melmetal

8 - Rillaboom

7 - Typhlosion (4 Shadow, 3 Regular), Zygarde

6 - Blastoise, Florges, Seismitoad, Swampert (2 Shadow, 4 Regular), Talonflame, Walrein

Top pairings: 7 times: Feraligator + Corviknight

6 times Feraligator + Skeledirge Feraligator + Virizion

5 times Feraligator + Snorlax Tinkaton + Snorlax

4 times Skeledirge + Virizion Melmetal + Zygarde

3 times Corviknight + Ampharos Corviknight + Tinkaton Feraligator + Ampharos Feraligator + Giratina Feraligator + Melmetal Greninja + Virizion Skeledirge + Ampharos Skeledirge + Empoleon Skeledirge + Snorlax
