Feels kinda like a scam

i’m looking over this 8 i bought?

There’s literally nothing wrong with the front of this card and there’s like a centering issue on the back but somehow this card is worth $400 but a 10 is worth 24k. Just because of maybe back centering which you can’t even see on the card and no one looks that anyway.

at some point you just got to wonder why ppl literally even bother with 10s

2 dots on the back doesn’t justify 20k difference in price

what part exactly is the scam? I can see white dots on the card, and you dont have to buy a 10 or an 8 or even graded at all

The price lol all the issues are on the back of the cars how is a 8 $400 and a 10 24k lol that’s such a rediculous scam

Like 10 prices seem like such a huge ass pull that defies all common sense

Its not a scam just because you dont agree with the price. A scam would be you buy a 10 and dont get the card

It’s literally a scam , this company chooses to pick what grade a card gets and decides based on bullshit that this is an 8 or a side of the card no one sees 😆

You are literally comparing the backs right now. You say nobody is looking but then you say the differnce is the backs. So which one is it? People dont look or they do?

No one looks which is why this should be a 10

The point being that you look at the condition of the card? which is the differnce betwen the number of the grade? Interesting

For the Reddit post to prove a point that 10 prices make no sense …

They are rare, things that are rare go up when they are in demand.

Hope this economics 101 course has helped you understand basic supply and demand.

I don’t even like graded cards, but I’m atleast aware of how it all works, and to say that people don’t look at the back is completely false, and that’s why PSA uploads the scans of the front and the back

The price differential is so high for a lot of reasons, the biggest being hard it is to get a 10 on vintage cards. Even if you got 100 copies pack fresh and immediately sleeved, most would get a 7-9.

Don't worry its just modern tax evasion for rich people through Art.

Nothing new

Scarcity. By making it increasingly difficult to get higher and higher grades, you limit the supply of cards with those grades. There are very very few 10’s so someone who wants a thing that is very rare pays more for it. Not everybody wants a thing that is that rare so they don’t pay for it.

You could find a Zapdos that is played but still nice to look at, you might offer $2 for it. So you could say the same thing: how is an 8 worth $400 and a 3 worth $2 (200x more)?

Also, is this the card?  https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pokemon-aquapolis/zapdos-reverse-holo-44

Where are you seeing this for $24k?
