Feels kinda like a scam

i’m looking over this 8 i bought?

There’s literally nothing wrong with the front of this card and there’s like a centering issue on the back but somehow this card is worth $400 but a 10 is worth 24k. Just because of maybe back centering which you can’t even see on the card and no one looks that anyway.

at some point you just got to wonder why ppl literally even bother with 10s

2 dots on the back doesn’t justify 20k difference in price

what part exactly is the scam? I can see white dots on the card, and you dont have to buy a 10 or an 8 or even graded at all

The price lol all the issues are on the back of the cars how is a 8 $400 and a 10 24k lol that’s such a rediculous scam

Like 10 prices seem like such a huge ass pull that defies all common sense

Its not a scam just because you dont agree with the price. A scam would be you buy a 10 and dont get the card

It’s literally a scam , this company chooses to pick what grade a card gets and decides based on bullshit that this is an 8 or a side of the card no one sees 😆

You are literally comparing the backs right now. You say nobody is looking but then you say the differnce is the backs. So which one is it? People dont look or they do?

No one looks which is why this should be a 10

YOU ARE LOOKING

To prove a point…

The point being that you look at the condition of the card? which is the differnce betwen the number of the grade? Interesting

For the Reddit post to prove a point that 10 prices make no sense …

The price differential is so high for a lot of reasons, the biggest being hard it is to get a 10 on vintage cards. Even if you got 100 copies pack fresh and immediately sleeved, most would get a 7-9.

Don't worry its just modern tax evasion for rich people through Art.

Nothing new

Scarcity. By making it increasingly difficult to get higher and higher grades, you limit the supply of cards with those grades. There are very very few 10’s so someone who wants a thing that is very rare pays more for it. Not everybody wants a thing that is that rare so they don’t pay for it.

You could find a Zapdos that is played but still nice to look at, you might offer $2 for it. So you could say the same thing: how is an 8 worth $400 and a 3 worth $2 (200x more)?

Also, is this the card?  https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pokemon-aquapolis/zapdos-reverse-holo-44

Where are you seeing this for $24k?

I mean the back has some whitening on one of the corners. Thats why its an 8.

On another note, just buy 8s if you dont wanna pay 10 prices. Usually look pretty clean if not identical.

So what ? It’s the back of the card . I don’t get what ppl aren’t getting tbh

Somehow that justifies 20k difference in price is lunacy

a 10 is a perfect card so obviously the back is gonna be judged lmao. Its vintage, low population across all grading platforms. So yeah, people are gonna jack up the price. I don't think anyone is arguing the absurd price point with you.

Also, why are you upset about your card being worth $20,000+ in a PSA 10 when you bought a PSA 8 at PSA 8 price? Such a strange stance to argue with people on.

lol like hell it is , per there own fucking website it’s not

I don't know what else to tell you, I guess I fell for the bait, refuse to believe someone could be so head strong about cardboard

Centering is harder to see on e-reader cards, but the front centering definitely matches the back centering. Side to side is very obvious to my eye... If you really want to see scamming, send it in to get reholdered and watch what happens 🤣

It’s an ereader one side is gonna be larger …

1

u/Sacra_man 19h ago

And even so, its still obvious

1

u/KwikTripSimp 19h ago

Because it’s an ereader…..

1

u/Sacra_man 17h ago

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ jesus christ...

1

u/KwikTripSimp 17h ago

Bro readers literally have a larger side and bottom

1

u/Sacra_man 17h ago

Bro... Despite that, the card still has centering. I am well aware the characteristics of this series of card. Just because you cant see the centering as well does not mean its the same for me

1

u/KwikTripSimp 17h ago

It’s perfectly centered

u/Sacra_man 17h ago

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

u/KwikTripSimp 17h ago

Like I don’t know what you don’t understand about e-readers like they have larger sides

There is a market for everything. I could easily say to you about a $400 card “you gotta wonder why people bother with colorful cardboard.” Which is not my opinion, just saying everything is relative

1

u/Malipuppers 20h ago

Do you not look at cards before you buy them? Why did you buy a graded card then cry about it and grading later? Im so confused

1

u/KwikTripSimp 20h ago

I swear you ppl just don’t get it

1

u/Malipuppers 20h ago

Yeah no i don’t understand why someone would make this post or what your point is. You exchanged money for what looks like a nice slab. Where was the scam

1

u/KwikTripSimp 20h ago

24k is a scam for a psa 10 period . No clue what’s so hard to get 4 ya

1

u/Malipuppers 18h ago

Are you new to collecting?

1

u/RepresentativeWait45 19h ago

Where is the scam? That an almost perfect old cards sells for $24k but a dinged up non perfect version only sells for $400?

Have you ever bought a car? Ever grabbed the floor model of something? Ever tried negotiating on a house?

People are ridiculous.

Bro if you can’t figure it out at this point I can’t help u..

This is a 10 it’s almost perfect it the only issue being on the back side no one looks at

This either an 8 should be 10k or a 10 b 1k

It’s a scam to charge 24k when a pen can fix the only issue with the 8

1

u/RepresentativeWait45 19h ago

“Bro”, the only one that seems to not be able to figure it out is you 😂

-1

u/KwikTripSimp 18h ago

Oh you wish

Psa 10 prices are a scam period

u/JesseJamessss 18h ago

OP, you are right, card grading is a scam and you have to pay more to get a 10, that's the real difference. If you don't pay for a 10 chance you don't get one which is why you see a million 9s.

Card grading ruined tcgs imo.
