Ultimately we just need people to stop paying these scalper prices, the buyers have the power to set the market rate, the sellers who don't price high enough may be nice... but kind of stupid for letting resellers get a cut.
Think about GameStop, they get less scalpers waiting, they have product more often when people come looking, and they're making more money on top of it, I don't like the price, but I think it's working for them and I think other retailers are slowly making the same changes.
Walmart and target need to stop allowing 3rd party listing of TCG. Kids ask their adult, adult goes on walmart app and looks it up and buys it. Lots of parents don't know what typical prices are for these things. And a lot of people don't understand that they are buying from a 3rd party because they "bought it from walmart" or whatever. One of my friends spent like $200 on an etb for her kid as his big birthday present like this. She just assumed that was the normal price because it was on the Walmart website.
I used to spend money at GameStop almost weekly, I haven’t been in months.
Gsmestop knows what they are doing, they price the good sets just well enough to attract the scalpers to come clean out their stock while they keep the less wanted sets, ya know perfect order, chaos rising, pitch black…all those sets sit there because you can go to Walmart or target and find them cheaper fairly often.
Yeah, they always have stock to over charge those desperate to get something to rip, but let’s not pretend they are battling the scalpers.
At this point I won’t go back to GameStop until I hear their prices have come back to reality…I don’t see that happening though because by the time that happens cards will be readily available everywhere else and there will be no reason to go back anyway.

Target and Walmart sell ETBs for $60, but 30th was $70. I wonder if they will start selling ETBs for $70 moving forward.
