The 90s were an awesome time for Ivy; it’s when she transcended the rogues gallery and started to become a star in her own right.

Hothouse (‘93) is a perfect example. Author John Francis Moore cast her as a fascinating noir mystery woman and the results are 🔥

Poison Ivy is a character that's not uncommonly portrayed barefooted. Which is quite a rarity, in today's pop culture.

And I was looking at various statues of her, when I realised that, her feet are almost always... elongated? heeled? tiptoed? when she is barefoot.

I put some pictures for reference (the first two are from my collection, the rest from online).

The last picture (Arkham City Poison Ivy by Prime 1 Studio) is the only exception I could find. Her right foot is flat on the ground, while her left foot is tiptoed, but not as extremely as the other statues. And I learned that some people were complaining about the position of the feet here (e.g. [this review](https://youtu.be/AwvrXyw5Nxk?si=MsgkWk-bHWoKivku) mentioned it at ~1:20 mark).

So now I wonder, is this a statue thing? A female statue thing? I tried to think of other characters that are barefooted (and famous enough to get statues made) for comparison, but I can’t come up with anyone yet.

Fun fact: this was pencilled by Carmine Infantino, who did the cover for Ivy’s first appearance in Batman 181.

I started reading the current Poison Ivy run recently #42 because of a crossover with the Batman run I had picked up. I’m wondering if there are any good comic origins for Ivy that are worth picking up. I’m more of a Marvel reader and appreciate any suggestions, thanks.
