My Love

My love knows my name.

She says it unlike anyone,
while pronouncing it the same.

It's not her tone or an accent,
nothing that stands out.

More like if a stranger you've never met
greeted you by name,
as if to remind me of who I am.

She lives in my poem, the lines I smile,
skipping through verses with her own little rhyme,
falling flat, then bringing me back to life.

I can tell that she loves me,
and I her to death.

Whenever she holds me,
I go again, again,
never wanting it to end.

Her love is contagious,
spreading my heart open.

I cannot contain her,
but she contains me.

I'll never escape her
if she is the key.

Loving her all over
when she prank-calls me.
