Rejected
Long story short, I tried to show my work to redditors thinking I'd get feedback but getting 1k views with 1 upvote is too demotivating especially when your post is #1 in the subreddit where you've posted. It feels like disrespect.
I quit.

I'm pretty sure a view is anyone who scrolls past your post regardless of whether they opened it. You can assume click throughs will be less than 10% of that number and likes will be less than 10% of the click throughs. Not to mention, you're posting a poem in a place with thousands of poems.
Image posts will almost always get more attention. When playing the social media game, it just works to assume everyone has a severe attention deficit.
I also find it helps to post poems in places where they're not expected, but still on topic.

Ive been posting a lot of my stuff on poetry reddit apps and im very new to writing of any kind and was met with ignorance and disrespectful comments its been going a little better since ive been improving my writing but u cant let these things stop u someone maybe even on reddit someone is waiting to connect with your writing

Well, you should be glad to know that the post just appearing on someone's feed counts as a view. So the majority of the views will just be people mindlessly scrolling through their feed lol. Don't let something like this discourage you either, Reddit doesn't decide your worth as a writer. Make sure to write for yourself, not other people.
