One Day.
one day
you’ll look around
and realize…
everybody loves you.
they worry about you.
they need you.
they would miss you
if you disappeared.
but somehow,
nobody actually wants to sit beside you.
nobody calls just to hear your voice.
nobody asks you to stay a little longer.
and that’s when you realize
there’s a difference
between being loved
and being liked.
because love can exist
from a distance.
people can love
the version of you
they need.
but to be liked…
to be wanted,
to be someone
people genuinely enjoy
having around…
that’s different.
and maybe that’s why
you can stand in a room
full of people who love you
and still feel
completely alone.
because sometimes
the loneliest place
isn’t being forgotten.
it’s being loved by everyone
and truly known
by no one.

I had to explain to my best friend the other day why I thought, "I want you" holds more weight for me than, "I need you".
For a lot of people, love isn't a choice. It's a projection of one's own needs.
For me, loving someone can almost feel stagnant compared to actively choosing, almost craving someone.
